Is it possible to control your dreams to the point of entering another person's? Ie. can you realize you are dreaming and take part in another person's dream, causing both of you to experience the same dream? I think this is a really interesting idea to consider; if dreams can be shared by multiple people, that would essentially prove that dreams are an altered state of being as opposed to an altered state of consciousness. I tried this experiment with a friend and he believes it works but I cannot remember enough about it to agree with him. I'm sure this isn't possible...it's a little far out.

Mutual Dreams aren't too 'far out', and can happen. Especially if the dreamers independantly 'connect' on some 'subconcious level'. Carl Jung believed that we are all able of 'mentally tapping into' some kind of 'communal databank'. I think he was right. Cheers, Jon.

This is a topic that interest's me very much. I have tried it, and I feel as though I am talking to my friends in my dream, however a lot of my friends don't remember their dreams enough to confirm this. Whenever I become lucid in my dreams I try to bring other's into the dream with me. I will look around and find a door. Then I tell myself that they will be on the other side of this door, and I knock. Sometimes I will get someone coming out who isn't the person who I intended, but they always appear. It confuses me because they are so "in touch" with the people I know and talk to every day. It appears as if I am actually talking to them.
It seems so real. |

after reading this thread I decided to try it on my husband w/o telling him to see if it would work. Before I went to sleep I just kept repeating his name in my head until I finally feel asleep.
I did end up dreaming him....and when I woke up I felt like it worked. So I later asked him if he remembered his dream he said,"no." Then I asked him about a trampoline...and he looked shocked and said yes! THen he explained the dream & it was the same as mine. |

I wonder if this is what I've experienced. This is my post on the subject. Dream Hopping? |
