Wink Welcome to the lucid dreaming section!

Well, since I am re-vamping the discussion software I thought this might be a good time to add a new forum on LUCID DREAMING.

Lucid as you know (or may not) means "vivid" or "very clear". Sometimes having them is caused by stress, worry or even drugs.

Sometimes it could be more then this. Visions come in the form of lucid dreams for some people.

Discuss all things lucid here!

Um, I know "lucid" means clear but Lucid dreaming means concious dreaming. You actually know you are dreaming while being in the dream.

Default Aren't most dreams lucid then?

Usually when I dream I know I am dreaming - does that make them lucid?
What about dreams when you think you are awake the realise later that it was a dream?

I've had those types, and they are really weird. You apparently wake up and do all kinds of things, but are really still in bed asleep! The strangest one is where you dream about going to bed and sleeping, but just before you get up!

Cool introducing : ME.... Silent lucidity

as far as i know,.... everytime i dream, i know for sure that I am dreaming, but let my subconscious ( or is it) take over to see where it goes from there... i do not neccesarily want to control it unless it is a nightmare that i want to get out of.... then I make myself wake up. sometimes though, my dreams feel so real that i carry them with me throughout the day, and if it is a bad dream, i tend to act poorly towards the person the dream was about if it was a negative dream... but always come to the ticker that i need to chill, it WAS only a dream.... for some reason i believe that not all my dreams are memories or subconcious thoughts worries or memories.... but premonitions.... ever since i was young, ive had a "feeling" per say and i know that sounds cheesy, about people just by looking at them or i can instantly tell if someone is full of it.I am easy to pick out shady people. would love to work for the FBI, because i have the ability to "respect innocent before guilty" knowing people are wrongly and justly convicted. THE TRUTH IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING.
But i know when to speak or to be silent .... people could think im insane with some of the dreams i have had..... im the girl who goes to someones house and knows where everything is already... ive seen it before.... know that i have been there.... but never have........i remember suttle details... like howmuch toothpaste was on the toothbrush... or what pattern the bubbles from thesoap left in the tub or in the sinkwhat the silverware looks like, what kind of soap they use, etc. but can tell them what is in their closet or how their bathroom is decorated before i walk in. spooks me still to this day.... would love to have someone talk to me about this so i may come to terms with my thinking or subconscious.

Default Not much to say

Hey trinityava, what you said about being the one who knows these sort of things caught my attention. Have you ever considered the possibility of psychic abilities? What you described seemed like something someone experiencing astral projection (out-of body experiences) would say. I'm not too big on that kinda stuff, it reminds me of a period i went through, but anyway, it was just a thought.

Question rainbow serpants?

My sister past away last week, was being beaten to death and managed to break away from him after being kicked in the face and stomache several times... she ran up a hill and was hit by a mack truck on the highway trying to get away from him. I have been having very lucid horrible dreams since then.
I dont know if this has anything to do with her, but i remember seeing very vividly in my dream that there was a little blonde wavy haired girl with blue blue eyes ( my sister was a brunette with brown eyes) but this little girl was holding several snakes in her hands, all of them had diamond patterns of solid black and then solid bright colors of red, yellow blue pink, purple, aqua, green, orange... all colors and she was laughing. big snakes of the same sort and colors were crawling all over where she was sitting. Im very curious as to what this dream could mean.

thanks ava

Default hmmmm....

just so i am clear here, lucid dreams are just knowing that you are dreaming??

how about when u r just at the waking point but not quite, i have heard myself mumbling, but in my dream i'm screaming at myself to wake up. most times it seems to take forever to wake up.

also, i do sleep with a lot of pillows around me, generally wake in the same position was when i fell asleep. i wake with scratches on my shoulders and back, and bruises on my legs. is this part of this lucid??

Default lucid acording to psych books

My psych 275 book realizes lucid dreaming as, "dreaming with intent." I lucid dream, and I disagree with that a little. But, truth be known, it is dreaming with knowledge that one is dreaming. one is able to control what is happening to a point. It's all in your head, so why not? Like being conciously schizophrenic.
I was diagnosed as having asbergers syndrome as a kid. When I tell people that now, they laugh. I'm out-going, have friends, have a husband. But it's all effort for me. I don't mind that no one knows, I'm glad. I'm NORMAL. All anyone wants. NORMAL. but I'm not. I'm not normal. I have to work at things that should come normal to anyone. But I'm ok with that. Noone else knows how many tiles we need to replace in our kitchen. My hubby needs me there for that. I gave the exact figure for the tiles. We got the exact quote for the backsplash in one visit. I know I'm crazy, but I'm useful.
