For the last couple months I have been experimenting with lucid dreaming. I have had some success, i'm learning a little..but here's my problem.
Alot of times when i'm on the verge of sleep, in that stage of sleep where fleeting images and thoughts come to you, I begin to feel myself lifting from my body. For some reason, I always get scared! Every night before bed, I tell myself that I will lucid dream, and always I remind myself that God is with me and I am always safe. Even when I start to feel the lifting, I remind myself. But I can never go through with it because I am always scared. I'm not sure what i'm scared of..I suppose it's because whenever I have lucid dreamed, I had already been dreaming and then suddenly I realize it. I have never been able to lay down and leave my body and enter the dreamscape. Does anyone have any suggestions? Please help, thank you!

One suggestion I would have is to affirm to yourself every single day that you are safe when you are dreaming. You do this every single day until, eventually, your subconscious believes what you are telling it. Affirmations go a long way. Also, ask yourself what reasons you would have to be scared. Another thing is, when those thoughts are coming to you, let them come. But acknowledge them as just thoughts and let them go. It sounds like from the way you're describing it that you're trying to have an out of body experience? Is this correct?

Yes, I would eventually like to be able to have OBEs at will..I have read that lucid dreaming is a step towards this.
I think I am scared of encountering something unfriendly outside my body..I have heard many stories of this happening. Also, I don't exactly know what to do when i'm lucid. I want to experience amazing things and different realms and dimensions and worlds. I just don't know how to bring this about.
