i have lucid dreams (a lot of the time), and the mere fact that i can be aware that I'm "only" dreaming does not make me less nervous, about what is happening in the dream (I often have quite disturbing dreams/nightmares). and even though i can have some effect/influence on what goes on in the dream e.g. I can decide which direction to walk in/what to say or do...i don't have full, ultimate control (maybe no control at all!) over other characters in my dream. so if i am having a dream about a scary person who might want to hurt me, i can, for instance, consciously decide what my best strategy to deal with this scenario might be, but there is still the worry over how this other person in the dream might react.
Sometimes, i can actually control/dictate the events or people around me in my dream. but even then, this usually happens halfway through the dream, so that things beyond my control have still happened before i switch to being the one "in charge". does this make sense? Also, sometimes it's as though my own brain wants me to have an unpleasnt/bad dream! e.g. once i dreamed i was going swimming in an ocean. i was conscious that i was dreaming, and i really was pleased and happy to go for a swim, because i love swimming. the water looked really nice, however, as soon as i immersed myself in it, the waves became too big and i became scared. after this, i "dreamed" (deliberately, lucidly) the waves a little less big, and a little calmer, and i could swim to shore and go on to dry land. but it certainly wasn't the fun experience i had supposed it would be when i planned to go swimming! |

Hi Captain Shorty,
Well, because I believe many dreams hold messages for me, and that some of those messages are from the Divine, I don't believe in controlling or changing lucid dreams at all. Dreams that are naturally lucid are most often likely to be PSI dreams, that is psychic connections. Someone, God/dess, guides, angels, other people either living or "dead", is trying to share information with me, so if I start messing about with changing the dream, I risk totally losing the message. Instead, I use the lucidity to pay careful attention to details and make a conscious note of them so I'll remember more when I wake up. It seems to bring me a good deal more insight using them that way. I also don't do anything to incubate or force lucid dreams. Mine occur naturally. |

hi captain shorty,
i understand what you are coming from. i sometimes have dreams like yours. the sea thing might mean that you are going to sort of drown some time if soon some time later. but you will survive it. maybe a little change in the weather and you did not know about it. and if that is the case...........any thing you go or are planning to go to the beach listen to the weather forecast. that's pretty much what your dream might mean. so take care.........and listen to the weather forecast. vamp.princess 3/sapphire |
