Following on from Part One, here are some of the female sitters I can recall:-
Unknown Woman With Spaniel [English: 1630s-40s Full length painting; setting: an 'interior' - very typical of the period [esp Van Dyke] with a Classical column and dark crimson velvet curtain. Name seems to have had 'Maria' in it. [She was like the woman in Attached Image One, but the blue satin was far more vibrant. The Attached portrait is of Anne Carr, Countess of Bedford, by Van Dyke [c.1638]] The spaniel [brown and white] was by her left foot. Unknown Woman With Rosary [Dutch? 1500s] Half-length painting, dark background. Wimple: white linen; dress black velvet. Holding a silver Crucifix with beads or a chain. [She resembled the woman in Attached Image Two.] Unknown Woman With Red Rose [English: 1530s] Half-length painting, dark background. Her dress resembled the left one in Attached Image Three, but the 'hood' was like the right one. [Both Attached portraits are of Anne Boleyn, 2nd Wife of Henry VIII.] Like the Left Anne, the Woman held a single red rose. But her necklace was a single gold chain, with no visible pendant. Unknown Woman With Turban [English: 1770s] The 'Turkish costume' was like the left image [Lady Mary Wortley Montagu1689-1762], but its colouring [gold and pale green] was more akin to the right one [Sir Robert Shirley [1581-1628; Van Dyke: 1622]. [See Attached Image Four.] Except the woman's turban was sky blue, and simpler in style. Her left elbow rested on a balustrade under some trees. Her head [in profile] was 'cradled' by her hand.
