Who are you?

I have been dreaming ever since i can remember,but when i actually consciously/ sub-consciously/ un-consciously interact with my visions its hard to forget. The dream took place in my college residence and the time was late morning.
I remember hearing my name in a whisper "nick, nick," i acknowledged the voice. The voice went on to say "ask me anything you desire to know, anything in this world or the others (heaven, hell, space, io, etc.) and i will tell you an your answer" i remember thinking to myself "i already know what i need to know, except who this voice is." I proceeded to ask "WHO ARE YOU?" at that very moment i saw the chin of a skull (like someone looking upward) rotate down to look me in the eyes and what i saw was a skull with fire coming out of its eyes,mouth, ears, nose, and the entire thing was engulfed in flames, which literally threw me out of REM causing me to jump a foot straight up out of my bed.

These dreams always make me wonder a) does person do drugs of any kind
b) watch way too many bad, scary movies.

Why? Because as a child I had a lot of fearful things happen, but never have dreams like that and I think the reason is, I didn't make life harder by putting chemicals in my brain, and I don't like scary movies, because I've known real fear.
