It is possible I am sharing dreams with someone, or two people. What does this mean? And can anyone tell me a bit about shared dreaming?
I am willing to share the dreams if that would help, but I'd really just like to know more about shared dreams. I've had them before just never investigated them. |

I'm interested in hearing people's ideas on shared dreaming, too. I get the feeling that sometimes I'm entering a dream world where other people are dreaming, too, sometimes (but not every dream -- some don't feel that way).

Can you elaborate more on what dream worlds? What is your opinion on shared dreaming?

Physically I'd have to say its impossible to have a shared dream, however i have had a few dreams where i was in someone else(i.e. person did not look or act like me). By that I mean I could hear, see, feel (emotions too) whatever was happening around and to them. But, i could not hear their thoughts and my thoughts did not seem affect the persons actions. I was a complete bystander in the dream. I also tend to remember those type of dreams FAR better than when i'm the main character of the dream.
I wonder now if those were shared dreams. |

Hi Klitch,
Sounds like it could be a shared dream. I know once you reach REM that some say you reach the spirit world, and who knows what else is possible. It can be that you care about other people and find yourself feeling some of what they are going through, but like some situations you can only stand by and can't feel all of their emotion. I thinks its a good dream, perhaps the next dream will reveal more! Elmo |

My sister is two years older than me but she always calls me when im in trouble. We also tend to have shared dreams. She lives about six hours away. I was on the phone with her a while ago and told her that I had a dream a couple nights before that I was in a parking lot getting shot at and she had had a dream the same night that she was also in a parking lot shooting at someone. I didn't take offense.

i have had dreams like these before:
1) i once had a dream when i was with my friend and i told him to call me. I was then awakened by a phone call from that same friend (who had called me in his sleep). we both agreed that we had a shared dream. 2) I had a dream when i was pushed off a building and saved by a trampoline. I ended up filing a lawsuit against him and woke up on my laptop and i had emailed random jibberish to my friend from the dream... However it was clearly labeled LAWSUIT at the top Coincidence? |

My mother and I share dreams frequently. That may sound crazy but it is possible to share dreams with someone you have a strong connection with.

In response to LadyC, My mother and I have also had the same dream, but it only happened once. The dream is below. I also posted it on the prophetic dream section.
I had a dream that I was standing in the ocean looking at a white sandy shore with pine trees. I could feel the soft sand under my feet and started swimming while still facing the shore. I was about 15ft from the shore when I suddenly felt a strong current pull me toward my left. I tried to put my feet down but it was too deep, I could no longer feel the sand. I started to struggle and panic. I eventually went under. I kept trying to swim to the surface to get air but I was held under and tossed around. I couldn't breath and panicked more. I tried with all my might and finally managed to get my lips above the surface and gasped for air. I then woke up out of my sleep in the middle of the night and was gasping for air at the same time. The next morning I was going to tell my mom the dream because it seemed so real. Though i've been a water person all my life and love the ocean, I have never had a dream of drowning. Before I could tell my mom, she told me that she had a dream the night before also. She had a dream that she was looking at me in the ocean when suddenly a bunch of trees, mud and debris started filling the ocean from the her left and cause a strong current to come towards me. She then saw me go under the water and couldn't find me. I freaked out when she told me and then shared my dream with her. I took it as a warning and didn't go to the beach that week. However, that weekend when I went to church, we had a guest speaker by the name of Jim Mellado from Willow Creek who shared his testimony about him and his son nearly drowning in a riptide in the ocean and how it changed their life. |
