In Witchcraft we have spells that induce lucid dreams. Would you like me to give you one?

Sometimes I'd like to make lucid dreaming out to be grander and scarier than it is. I'd really like to say something like "The biggest danger of lucid dreaming is that your silver cord could be cut, leaving you to wander the dreamscape eternally, never finding your way back to your body!"

But that's not true. Lucid dreaming isn't dangerous.

It helps some people to have a subconscious symbol or item to remind them that they can do anything they want to in a dream. For example, if you see a teddy bear, you'll remember that you can fly, travel wherever you want to, meet with whomever you'd like to, etc. Your subconscious could insert teddy bears into your dreams randomly or have you pull a teddy bear out of your pocket. Imagery like this is a good catalyst for lucid dreaming.

Eventually, you should be able to start taking control of your dreams whenever you want to, even without the "teddy bear." But if you're just starting out, a little reminder like a teddy bear is useful.

Lucid dreams are a horrible affliction for those that truly suffer from them. I'm not talking about a few lucid dreams here and there or a repetitive dream you're in control of. I am talking about hours and hours of lucid dreams every single night.

When I wake up in the morning I can relate hours worth of dreams. All the details, store names, the timeline, everything. In these dreams I am also in control. I change whatever I want. I make decisions consciously in my dreams. If I start dreaming about something I don't like I can change it, I can change so many parameters. I often fly in my dreams, make myself fly, and I literally feel like I am awake and flying. I can control a lot, but sometimes I cannot change a situation and I actually feel the pain and frustration of not being able to change the situation or figure something out in a dream.

My fears and stress in life enter these dreams and I am stuck in a world that is awful. If something truly bad happens in my dream I conciusly wake myself up. How is that possible!! The horrible thing is, that I am completely conscious the entire time and can relate every detail when I wake up, even store names and the entire timeline. For at least three dreams. It would take several hours to relate my dreams of one night to someone.

These dreams affect my mood and make me uncomfortable the next day, and I hate going to sleep because of them. It happens every night, all completely recountable. Its awful and I never EVER feel rested. And even sleeping pills doesn't stop them. Nothing stops them. I would be very careful what you wish for.
