Exclamation Conscious of a Presence...Need Help Please

Hello everyone!

I, quite literally, have dreams every night that are so real, so detailed...I wake up exhausted because I feel like I am living two lives--my actual life and these epic, incredibly involved dream lives.

I've gotten used to the consistently epic dreams (honestly, it would take about 1/2 hour for me to describe each one - that's how detailed and life-like they always are), but last night something happened that was a new one for me and I need some help in figuring this out:

I awoke from a deep sleep, laying face-down on my bed. I woke because I'd heard a noise in my home while I was sleeping/dreaming. So anyways, I was face-down and heard the noise again. My brain was foggy and I couldn't move any of my muscles (sleep paralysis, I assume). I knew someone or something was standing next to my bed (to my face-down left), just standing over me.

I was scared.

I tried to scream, all the while conscious of the dreams I've had in which I try to scream but nothing comes out other than a quiet, hoarse squeak. So I laid there, unable to flip over to see what was standing over me. I kept trying to scream; kept telling myself that even though I was unable to scream in prior dreams, if I really tried, I'd be able to get the scream out this time. I was even conscious of the fact that my neighbors might hear the scream (I live in an apt. building). But I decided that I was willing to risk waking the neighbors, if only I could get that scream to come out. I kept hoarsely squeaking into my pillow; kept forcing; kept trying to scream. All the while, whatever was standing over me was still there. I could feel it. I think I may have finally gotten some form of scream out and then fell immediately back to sleep (back into another epic dream).

What is this all about? What was standing over me? I know something was there. I KNOW it. I could feel its presence. I don't know if it was a malicious being or a presence with good intentions. I was too afraid to do anything other than my above-detailed scream attempts.

Any help/insight is much appreciated.

Default Hey both you.

Ive said a few things on here about the same thing myself. And ive had a similar experience too. I was in bed one night, wasnt actually asleep though, just looking round my room..And all of a sudden something jumped on top of me, and started strangling me, i couldnt breathe, tried moving, tried screaming(Think i did) and it disappered, i immediatly got up turned on the light, opened my door to see if my Dad heard anything, but he didnt. And from that time on, i couldnt sleep for the rest of the night, cos i was frightened it would be back. I have done alot of searching, asked people on here about my experience, and they have been a good help, some say sleep paralysis..But i know it def wasnt when i was alseep, i was clearly awake, and i only just turned out the light, and layed down on my back. I still feel like something is around in my room, i feel it is quite strong, and for some reason, waiting for something. As i said before, I done some searching, I found out that the thing that attacked me is a Demon/Spirit..Called Inguma. Now one of you said you have seen it once, Do you remember what it looks like? I may be able to get some more info for you on the net.

I have to right off say I think it was a spirit and I'm not sure whether or not it had good intentions. But if it didn't hurt you it might have been watching over you.
What I am more interested in is that you live two realities. I get this very much and it is very exausting. However, I'm not always there anymore. I wanted to know what is your expierience with that? Is it the same place you return to? Same people? Like a normal human life, or more abstract?
I'd love to talk more about this, I only know one other person who has even mentioned things like this and I'm afraid to talk to most people about it, they'll think I'm insane.

Hi,
I've copied and pasted one of my previous replies, I hope you don't mind but wanted to save my fingers!
Anyway, here goes...

"I too have suffered from this on a few occasions quite a few years ago now.
The first time, there seemed to be a little man (I couldnt see his face but now you mention it, it may have been blurry) besides me talking to me although all I caught him say was "when your feet touch the ground" after this point I managed to struggle and moved my head around. I prayed to god for it to go and it went away.
The second time, i was just about to fall asleep when my mum came into the room and asked if we'd seen Cindy (my small Yorkshire Terrier dog), I said no. When my mother left the room felt a big dog jump on top of me. It was snarling and I could feel its breath on my face and it's claws in my chest, it kept moving it's feet as though it was slipping. Again, I prayed and it went.
My sister at the time didn't believe me (I was around 12 years old) but the same thing happened to her a few years later when she had a friend around for a sleep over. She tried to call her friend but she couldnt move or talk. She rememebered what I did, prayed to god, and then it went away. She hasn't laughed at my story since!
To this day I don't know what causes it. All I can say is that I have to pray every night before I go to sleep as I am too worried in case it comes back but it hasn't bothered me since so it must be working."
I do feel that I need to add that I am not an extremely religious person. I have not been to church in I can't remember how man years but I really felt he presence of the figure wasn't a nice one and the first thing I thought to do was to pray to God and it worked for me. I too could not move or speak out, the prayer was said by thought.
I hope it helps to know that you're not alone!

I more meant about living two lives, one in a dream-world. But thank you so much! If you want to discuss anything I'd be glad to help to.

Can I ask you a question. Are you religious at all? The reason I ask is because I have these type of dreams all of the time, and I noticed that I only began having them right around the time I accepted Jesus into my life. In addition, many other people who accepted him have the same type of dreams. Not trying to spook you out or anything.
