Default eyelids

not sure if where this fits in but, when i was a kid, i used to be able to see thru my eyelids at night, or at least thats what i thought. i would be laying in my bed going to sleep and then i could see my room around me even though i knew my eyes were closed. it happened so much i just thought it was something that happened at night sometimes. i realize now that it was just a dream or something dream like, since when i could see my room with my eyes shut, the room still looked dark, but everything was kinda bluish illuminated.

Hello Jonnyboy,
I’m not sure but my guess would be that you were seeing with your mind in an altered state. If you try to see with your physical eyes, you can’t see a thing – your eyes won’t open. But as soon as you relax, and think with your mind in an altered state, vision comes to it. I presume you were lying there, knowing you were asleep, but in fact was feeling wide awake and lucid? Do you have any similar dreams now?

Maybe Lugus will know….has this something to do with seeing with your third eye?

All the best
idgy

Thanks to Idgy for your comments and insight.

Jonnyboy -- You may very well be having some type of 3rd eye (6th chakra) experience.

El Collie went into some detail about the 6th chakra and its awakening.

REALIZATION 6th chakra: (Third Eye chakra, located in the center of the forehead) Abstract thought -- intellectual focus. This is the level of knowledge. When the 6th chakra is awakening, enormous pressures are felt in the head, particularly around the eyes and in the forehead area. These may cause excruciating headaches. There may be twitching and vibrating felt between the brows. The eyes may roll cross-eyed or up into the head. There may be dazzling visions seen with the eyes open or closed; sometimes a huge single eye is seen staring out. When the 6th chakra is pierced, one gains contact with spiritual guides, deities and one's guardian angel or guru. Astral travel and other out-of-body experiences may occur with this opening.
Breakdown or Breakthrough

And, here is some more information from El Collie on the 6th chakra.

6th chakra: REALIZATION Abstract thought -- intellectual focus

This is the level of knowledge. When the third eye or 6th chakra is awakening, enormous pressures are felt in the head, particularly around the eyes and in the forehead area. These may cause mild, fleeting or persistent and painful headaches. There may be twitching and vibrating felt between the brows. The eyes may roll up into the head or go cross-eyed. (I often awoke at night to find my eyes in this position, even with my eyelids closed.) There may be dazzling internal visions; sometimes a huge single eye is seen staring out.

When the 6th chakra is pierced, one gains contact with spiritual guides, deities and one's guardian angel or guru. One may also gain access to the Akashic records, and be able to "see" one's own and others' past and future lives.

"When the brow Chakra is going strongly, sometimes one feels the head spinning and there can be a dull pain in the bone above the nose and when one presses there it is very tender, and something goes through the nose which makes you sniff," says Irina Tweedie. When this chakra opens, she remarks that "the world seems to change. There is great happiness and great peace."

Jungian analyst Sallie Nichols has noted: "Statues of the Buddha always bear some sign on the forehead. It is the sign of awakened consciousness, the symbol of the twice-born." The use of the bindu -- the dot on the forehead -- in Hindu tradition is to honor the importance of this chakra. A distinctly visible circular indentation sometimes forms in the center of the forehead of saints and gurus (such as can be seen in certain photographs of the late Neem Karoli Baba). Some individuals with awakened Kundalini have told me that they have developed a discoloration or slight indentation of the skin at the level of the third eye.

Branded by the Spirit

As you see from the above, headaches can be a symptom of the opening of the 6th chakra. Of course, headaches can have many causes, which would include the opening of the 7th chakra at the crown.

I also believe that many of our physical injuries can be previews of the openings of different chakras. One woman wrote of her experiences. “From the age of three to forty I had a series of incident/accidents which were all a part of the kundalini awakening process going on inside of me. The first accident was at age three, I was riding a wagon with my sister down our drive way where there was a four foot bulkhead, my sister jumped off the wagon and I went over landing on my head. This was the first of many incidents that brought trauma to the third eye area.”
Kundalini Gateway: Tales of Awakening: Gloria Joy Greco

In addition to the above, there are certainly many of signs of the opening of the 6th chakra. This is sometimes seen in our dreams and visions. A single eye, which is often blue, might be seen. And, sometimes the dreamer will be looking through a window in a dream house. The window might be a symbol of the 3rd eye.

And, last but not least, here is a well known list of kundalini symptoms from El Collie. http://www.sleeps.com/forums/general...chat/19307.htm

Hope this helps.

I'd have to say that third eye stuff is very tempting, but don't eliminate the idea of astral projection. I know it's a long shot and not many believe in it, but it could be true, right?
Maybe try to do it again and see yourself, that would mean your spirit is out of body.
IDK, but good luck

I have a friend who this happens to, she says that sometimes it gets very annoying and she can't make it stop. She doesn't work on this, or think much of it other than saying that when she is really needing to rest, it can be very distracting.

I agree with the third eye information that has been shared... It's definitely an altered state of consciousness. Just keep working with the tools and gifts you're given. They're all there for a reason... Keep listening.
