Default How to start

I need some advice from you guys. I have an interest in lucid dreaming for a while, so i decided to start. I have read loads for information, but its mostly just the same information. I have kept a dream journal for about 2 weeks, but that didn't seem to help much. I have tried to tell myself that i will lucid dream and all of that, but it rarely happens when i do that. It happens more frequently when i don't even think about lucid dreaming. I know someone will say "just don't think about it then", but I can't control when they happen and they are very infrequent. Any sugestions? I have experienced the joy of lucid dreamming and i just want more of it.

Thanks,
Mike

also, can anyone explain why sometimes when im falling asleep, I feel this wierd sensation like my whole body is vibrating. when it starts i am fully concious, but i know im sleeping

Finally someone else who gets this.. I get that too. And it gets stronger and stronger as you come closer to falling asleep. But you never actually fall asleep, your eyes are closed and body is limp, but you still feel in control of your thoughts. Is that how it is for you, too? When that happens to me I have wake-initiated lucid dreams. It's like dreaming while still awake, they are much more realistic and you have less control. All my experiences with them have been violent nightmares. But anyway I can't explain why, I am looking for an explanation myself..

Yep, this started to happen the first few days after trying to induce lucid dreams. It is one of the wierdest sensations i've ever felt im my life, but when it happens i welcome it and TRY to keep myself from getting excited and walking up.

I've had a lucid dream last night, but it was very hard to control events/environment. The only thing that worked was when i called out "more vivid" then there was a transfornation from a black picture to cartoon world. haha. how can i induce these dreams on a regular basis and not every few months?

So for you it started happening after you started inducing lucid dreams? Hmm, well for me it started a couple years ago and because of the timing I am pretty sure they started happening due to withdrawals. But I'm not so sure now because they are happening again and like I said it's been a couple years. I actually enjoy the vibration feeling.. it's kind of relaxing.

What type of lucid dream was it? Where you were asleep and dreaming first, or when you were awake first? The ones I have where I'm in a dream then realize it's a dream I am basically god in. I can do anything just by saying it. But the ones where I'm awake or 'consciously sleeping' I have no control over, I have friends trying to strangle me to death, not quite as fun as the other type haha.

They started happening when i started sleeping in between college classes (didn't get much sleep in college). I would lay down for a nap, and as i was falling asleep i would slip into this wierd state. so i guess it was a WILD.

It seems kind of odd that you have your friends strangleing you doesen't it. I'm no dream analizer, but did you do something to them that you feel guilty for?

Whatever the case is, ive read about how you can finally end the nightmares by lucid dreamming.

Haha you pretty much hit it on the spot. But it's kind of the other way around now, they are the guilty ones this time around.. and they're happening again? Well I've only had one nightmare, mostly just the vibrating is happening again.

So by lucid dreaming (the kind you can control) I will end the nightmares is what you're saying?

guys, im glad i found your post. i have some good expierence with lucid dreaming. the vibration you are feeling is your energy body coming alive. this is the first process of the Out of Body Expierence. it has been said by some very note worthy author, Robert Bruce, that every one projects when they sleep. an OBE occurs when the body is 110% relaxed, and one of the ways this is acheived is when we sleep. (the other is meditation). but lucid dreams and OBEs are different, but the 'how' is very similar.

a method of lucid dreaming is just as what you are doing. falling asleep with an image and thought in your mind. if you hold a thought and a place you want to go in your mind for long enough, that thought becomes a reality in your lucid dream. this is one of the easier ways of inducing lucid dreams. the other is training your mind to learn the dream triggers.

your mind is like a muscle. so if you want to lucid dream every night, or whenever you want, you must practice and train your mind for just that. a good diet is also preferred. lucid dreaming will make all your dreams and wishes come true. it will also make your life a more plesant one, and more fulfilling. this is because in waking life, we have many obsticals that hold us back from living our dreams. whenever i want, i want to go snowboarding or take a vacation on a deserted island. i am not rich, and i have a job, both which hold me back from doing whatever i wish. our dreams, especially lucid dreams, allow us to do the unimaginable with no obsticals in our way. I personally see lucid dreaming as a tool to help me get more out of life, even if it isnt real. we spend many hours sleeping. rather then wasting time just sleeping, those hours can be turned into something great.

some careful steps should be taken though. one, you must make sure you have little to no grudges against anyone. this negitive energy will show itself in the form of a bad dream. so it is important to forgive the ones who you are troubled by, and are full of positive energy, so you can make the most out of your lucid dreams.

hope my rambling helped some!

Thanks apox, your rambling did help :-)

As for clydemillen, i've read that if you confront the attacker in your dreams then they might go away. I guess this means if you face your problem at a subconcious level, you resolve any remaining issues thus the nightmare will go away. I an not sure exactly what to say to the attacker. maby ask what it wants or why is he/she is doing it. They might just tell you.You have nothing to fear its only a DREAM!

I was just about to say what Apox did about OBE's, Its more likely that you are about to "Etheric Travel" (not "Astral Travel") rather than lucid dream as the vibration state is one of the keys for me at least to traveling.
