Question seeing images of faces

before going to bed not every night but often I close my eyes and can see faces of people I never met floating by either left or right behind my eyelids. I am not asleep this is before I go to sleep. I have asked everyone and nobody has ever seen this. I am not on any meds eccept for pain and take vitamines.I was told the perscriptions i take would not cause this. I can never get the faces to stop long enough to get a good look at them. I can see if they have blue eyes and their color hair and exspessions on their faces but they say nothing no voices just like a bunch of peoples faces most of the time they dont even look at me but sometimes they turn toward me and I can see their faces clearly. But it is only seconds. It varies from maybe 2 - 10 or more faces each time. then it just stops. I can only do this when I am totally relaxed. I also post on another area of this board for I have out of body exsperiances, at least I think they are. Does anyone have this???

I too have these images. I've never heard of anyone else having them but I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one.

Mine also happen when I am still awake. I see them on the back of my eyelids and the faces are different all the time. I do not see them in color. It's more like they are outlined in red in a black background. They are very vivid and the expressions change. They may be smiling at first but as they come toward me they turn into an agonized expression. Some are happy and stay that way. I can't be certain as my memory doesn't always serve me as well as it used to but I think I have seen my mother's face sometimes. She has passed three years ago. The images are a bit disturbing at times when they are anguished or sad. They don't last too long but sometimes I want them to stop so I can sleep.

I would love any insight that anyone can offer.

Exclamation faces

wow I cant believe theres someone else out there!! i have looked and asked everyone! If you close your eyes lightly and look deep into the darkness it will sometimes become daylight and that is when you will see colors of hair eyes ect.. try it and see if you can do it. The images only last a few seconds and often one face as it comes towards me changes to another face. strange you seen a member of your family cant recall i have, As I mentioned I dont know any of them (at least I dont recall). Mine too can be scarey faces, in pain maybe, crying happy sad ect.. I also want to ask you if you can float up in your dreams intentionally? I often get my self in a mind set in my dream and can float up. It is so real I feel if I can only remember how to get in that state that I can do it while awake. but I can never do it awake. I am astonished that i am not the only one who can see faces wile awake. really!!

I see this too! When I lay down to go to sleep at night, I see faces that start out far away and come closer and closer. (this is with my eyes closed) Usually the faces are not too happy. Sometimes they have no expression, though. They seem to make eye contact with me when they get really close. I do not recognize the faces. Gee, I thought I was the only crazy one.

Question I wonder if we have other things in common?

so far there is three of us that see these faces. I wonder what other simularities we have? I am OCD ( obsesive compulsive disorder) have come a long way since having it as a child. I am in my late 40's ok almost 50 years. I have general anxiety. I do not take meds anymore for years actually for back when I was a kid they called this depression and had me on antideprssants for years that did nothing. I found out before my dad passed away that he too had ocd all his life. my 26 yr old son also has this. so hereditary I believe. My other two sons one defenitly not (29 years old) the other cant tell yet he was a late child and is only 10. I have dream paralisas and more... anyone else have these issues that also see faces? Trying to get an idea of why only some people can see these faces.

Default Me too....: )

Hi,...It's been awhile but I've seen them too. They just roll by...like flashes...I have no idea who they are either. I never thought about it to much...thought it was just the beginning of me dreaming or something! I remember thinking about them for awhile tho, like, "Who are you people and what do you want or why are you showing yourself to me? Are you people someone I'll meet later in life or in my next life?" Then I stop wondering I guess... As far as the OCD, I probably am to some extent, but never been diagnosed. But In my opinion, Doctors label things too much, I think the human body and mind is just that, HUMAN! Were just plain weird sometimes, aren't we? (at least I am!! LOL!!!) Take care and tell all those people I said " Hi!" Laura

Wow! I've been waiting for a reply on this and I was afraid there weren't any others. I'll have to see if I can see colors. Not that it matters much I guess. It' still very strange. I too am mid forties. I don't have OCD but I am ADD. Who knows if it has anything to do with it. I'm still in early stages of analyzing my dreams and I think I've had lucid dreams and have been paralyzed but I can't be sure just yet. I don't believe I float. My mother had prophetic dreams as we were growing up. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. Nice to hear there are others. Thanks for responding!

Wink Mimosa

I just read your post and wanted to show you a post i posted under another catagory.

out of body exsperiance?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I often have many dreams each night and can usually remember all. One night I was so scared for after falling asleep in my bed with my husband and young ill child in the middle of us, I (thought) I woke up as I do many times a night. I sat on the end of my bed, smoked a ciggerette and noticed that the lamp was missing?? I turned around to look at my husband and son and noticed my husband was not there? I got up walked into connecting bathroom put on the light and put ciggerette out in toilet, when I looked in the bedroom my husband was IN bed and the lamp was there, so I figured I was now awake. I layed back down on bed to go to sleep and took one last glance around the room and noticed the lamp my dh and son and thought ok I am awake but as I looked toward the wall my window was not there! I sat back up astonished, got up walked back into the bathroom area and turned to look at window it was there! I said whoo Im awake but as I went to go to the bathroom there was no DOOR! only wall. I was freaking out. I looked at the bed and dh and son was still sleeping I was trying to talk scream saying "wake me up" wake me up" but noone heard me. I felt well maybye if I lay back down I will wake up or be able to touch my son or someone to make them wake me up. I couldnt move my arms at that time.( sorry so long but want to describe all I remember.) I pinched myself and felt it I picked up things and felt them?? for goodness sake I even smoked a ciggerette! after laying for awhile I looked around and bathroom entrance was now there everything was in place. I then said ok I will go to the kitchen and get a drink when I got up and walked towards the bedroom door there was no DOOR! this went on all night. Once I got out of bedroom I did get a drink (I think?) came back in bedroom and saw myself sleeping? I will never forget this dream. I also can float in all my dreams I float up and want to show people how to do it in my dream. I would pick something up in my dream from floating to try to bring back when awake but never do bring it back. I feel like if I could get in that state of ??? feeling i have before floating up as I get in the dream that I can do it while Im awake I try but cant. what does this mean?? its scarey at first but now I am so use to it I can now look around and if something is not right I say ok you are sleeping just try to shut your eyes. can someone help me with these dreams? Please.

Just giving a little back ground of my dreams.

Not sure what to think about a dream like that. I've never had out of body experiences or floating in my dreams that I recall. Your dream sounds frightening. I suffer from claustrophobia (sp?) and I get very anxious if I can't find my exits. Having a dream where the doors and windows disappeared would terrify me. I'm sure there's an explanation as to what your experience was (dream, out of body experience, lucid dream???) Hopefully one of the more experienced users have heard of this before. Good luck in finding an answer. I also hope to hear more information on the images we see as well. Thanks for the post!

Weird... I have OCD also. I also suffer from anxiety from time to time. I choose not to take meds for either. I wonder if that has anything to do with it? I know sometimes I have a hard time slowing down at night, but these faces come when I'm totally relaxed, yet not asleep yet.

I've also had dreams where I thought I was awake and it's very frustrating! I don't know if it's an OBE or what. I will get out of bed and go to the door and sometimes as soon as I get to the door I will get slammed back into bed. (that's when I figured out I'm not awake) I've also opened my bedroom door and it wasn't my hallway on the other side. lol It looked like I was up in the sky somewhere. Weird... I seem to suffer from a lot of sleep problems. The faces, astral travel (which isn't a problem, I just hate it at first because of the vibration and noise), sleep paralysis (where you are certain that a dark figure is coming closer and wants to kill you) ugh! It sucks. The other night when it happened to me I started praying and the thing was mocking me. I was able to snap out of it soon after though. Sorry about running on like that. I've had these experiences as long as I can remember. The faces are the only things that have seem to start in the past year or two, so I guess that is more recent. I'm in my early 30's.
