sounds awful simular to me, astrial exsperiance,(not sure what that means) but out of body exsperiances i have often. Can now tell even when dream is so realistic like (another boreing day in my life) something would happen like I would be on my way to work doing the same thing I do everyday eccept would see something out of the ordinary that cant be true so then I say to myself. I must never have gotten up at all for this is a dream! scarey but at least now I can recognise between the real world and the dream world and usual can stop the process. Love to hear more from you and all others whom see these faces.thanks for your responce.

I'm not sure wether this is proper in a "dreams" forum or not, but after discussing this phenomenon with a friend I was surprised to hear that he didn't share what I assumed was perfectly normal and thus began a google Quest and found this thread.
I've always (or as far as I can remember) had these kinds of images when I close my eyes. They are always some variation of people (or extremely seldom animals), sometimes only the faces but also on some occasions with limited scenery around the images. Generally they come in red, black and sometimes white which I always assumed was because those are the colours you'll expect to find on the back of your eyelids. For me, the images are always most clear after a night of heavy drinking; they are as crisp as if they were real, and they can last for up to 20-30 seconds in rare cases, but usually it's simply flashes for a few moments. When I simply close my eyes, they don't necessarily show up at once, and their longevity and sharpness vary wildly. Generally they tend towards shorter and more blurry, but I can sometimes, though far from always, recognize the people in them. I am at a loss as to how to explain this phenomenon, and given that I always thought this was perfectly normal, I've never really given it much more than passing thought. Glad to hear that I'm not just a lone crazy, but I guess in this wonderful day and age, every type of nutcase has at least a couple of likeminded on the intarweb. Edit: And, should I add, the reason I'm not completely comfortable in the context of dreams is because while I'm sometimes drowsy during the events, I am never asleep. I had a a pretty similar experience. I was taking some medicated prescription pills , and when ever I closed my eyes I saw a whole bunch of faces smiling or with frowns. It was pretty vivid and they almost looked ghostly. Pretty freaky if you ask me.

Hi
I see the faces too when I close my eyes, sometimes when I am in the shower and laying in bed about to sleep but not asleep. I see some horrible, scary faces sometimes, I don't know who these people are. I think I was OCD as a child, but I am working through those now. Not as compulsive as I used to be Usually even though some faces are horrific I am not afraid of them, I just think it is the way it is. I have asked my husband if he sees them but he doesn't. I have also experience sleep paralysis and my dreams are very vivid and emotionally intense sometimes. |

this is mad! pretty much everythings eveyones mentioned i get aswell.
I get thos faces alot, when ive got my eyes closed... i just visulise all these different people who ive never seen before in my life, and i dont know how my mind can just create them especially when im not even thinking about im seeing. My friend gets it but the faces she see's try and talk to her but she cant hear anything she just see's there faces moving... so that got me thinking. i also have thos dreams where i cant move, speak, or anything and i feel like im been sufficated but i feel like im awake, its so realistic... i got told you get them when your under alot of stress and when your over anxious and stuff. Which it seems everyone whos mentioned they have them are! I have anxiety disorders too and i worry a unhealthy amount, i also have ocd to so my minds always over working.. so maybe thats what it does when where asleep? sorry ive blabed on so much, i just googled 'seeing images' and found this and it was exactly what i was looking for, im so glad ive found people who experience them same things! |
