Default Frightening yet at peace

I dreamed that I was being hunted by an intimidating figure (commando type) and he always found me, then lucidly began stabbing me, mostly in the arms. There was no blood, and I was defenseless, yet at peace knowing that I was not being harmed. The perpetrator also showed enjoyment in the pursuit and the action of stabbing as he also taunted me. I awoke two times and everytime went back to the same dream.

Has anyone had similar dreams?

JWHDCMD,
I have also been through some quite scary stuff. I have been executed in some really horrible ways, but have just gone through it in much the same way that you describe. I know it is not happening and that I will not feel any pain.

Were you lucid, and knowingly staying calm? I think it can be quite liberating to face such fears, without running away or becoming fearful. I think if you can do this you may have bridged the gap between your conscious and subconscious. If you can go through a scary dream, letting it happen and knowing that it is only a dream and that you will not be hurt, you are able to know it for the illusion that it is.

I think this is a really good sign. Although, you can get rid of your attacker by having no fear, and just telling it to get out of your dream. Also, if you can imagine yourself being a light. If you can consciously bring yourself to shine much like a torch, this will also get rid of anything attacking you or any fear in your sleep.

wow, the telling yourself that dreams are dreams really does work. Even thou
gh I can't always control my own thoughts and actions in a dream, sometimes
I can. I recently had a dream where this gang attacked my house, and my fa
mily and I were running from them because it happened in the middle of a get
together even though there wasn't any tension going on at our last recent ge
t together, a group of Union soldiers were protecting us (the house itself was
built by a Union civil war soldier) I was consciously thinking where to hide and
keeping tabs on everyone, as the last gang member picked up on our wherea
bouts and was planning how to ambush me and the few others that were in t
he nearby hiding places I was thinking things like 'this evil sob is not going to
get us' and one of the few remaining union soldiers stabbed him with the sha
rp thing that they used to have on the ends of guns way back when. Even t-
hough I told myself if we didn't panick we'd have a better chance at beating
him, I trusted my instincts and surveyed the lay out of the rooms to try to g-
et out of his way I still can't get the evil look in his eyes and his grin or the b
right red colors that he was wearing out of my mind. most of the rest of the
dream went away but that part stuck. It seems that you are doing a pretty
good job of controlling your fears in dreams if he is stabbing you and nothing
is happening. I think I actually did think psalm 91 like in the king james bible.
