This might be a really dumb question, and I'm sure I've even done it before without realizing it, but what exactly is lucid dreaming?

I figured that one out about 2 weeks ago. More or less its dreaming, but being aware of what your doing in your dream, and all the sensations go along with it. For example, I turn on the lamp a lot next to my bed and then I happened to do that in my dream, and then it clicks "Im dreaming, i can do what ever i want." When that happened the first time was that I got excited and woke myself up, and it is accompanied by a strange energy/tingly feeling which i hear goes away the more you adapt to LDing. The second time I took a few steps, but was still too in awe of the whole thing. Its a proven scientific occurance.

Ooohhhhhhhhhhhh............... Thanks!
In that case, I have definitely had those. I used to have ones with my best friend back when he was living in Colorado, and I'd realize halfway through that I was dreaming. In a way, they were kind of prophetic. In a couple of them, he would introduce me to his wife who I had never met and had no idea what she looked like. I had her pictured as a slender yet fit brunette, but when I saw her in dreams, she was short, fat, and blond with round framed glasses. It turns out that's exactly how she looked. I had one a long time ago that has always had me wondering. According to my dream journal, it was November 2006. It involved a reoccuring character I call "Blue Eyes" (different forms, but same eyes and personality). It started off like a birthday party/sleepover, and the next morning we were supposed to go to Hawaii with a friend. I stayed up all night talking with Blue Eyes, and when morning came, everyone got up and went outside to go swimming. He decided to jump in with everyone else, I preferred to stay dry. But as I was walking around the pool, I slipped and he took the opportunity to pull me in. While everyone was splashing and fooling around, he was dancing with me in the water. This one girl kept shooting dirty looks at me, and at one point purposely walked by to shove me. It didn't do any good since she pushed me closer into Blue Eyes. It was when I was getting out of the pool that I suddenly realized that I was dreaming, and I took that opportunity to turn to Blue Eyes and ask him who he was. Normally, when I realize I'm dreaming, I shift into another dream that makes me forget I ever realized it. My head tried to shift into another dream, but I didn't let it this time. I kept asking over and over again "who are you? and why blue eyes?" Something replied back "because I can" or something like that. When I finally shifted back into the original dream, someone shoved me into a tree. Blue Eyes wasn't there anymore, but there was another guy there that had the same eyes. I originally thought he was the one who shoved me, but he actually pulled the guy that did away from me. When I asked him who he was, he said his name was Mason and that he was my son. I asked him a bunch of questions about who his father is, how I meet him, etc. There was another guy that was eavesdropping on the conversation and interrupted every time Mason tried to answer. He would laugh and mock me. The most Mason was really able to say was that his dad and I would meet at "the magic kingdom." His eyes started changing colors, and he said he had to go. My last question was if his dad's eyes were really blue, because if Mason really is my son, he obviously did not get his eyes from me (mine are dark brown). He just shrugged and walked away. I turned to the other guy, who seemed to know the situation. I asked him if he knew what color the guy's eyes really were, and he said "No, they look like clockwise clocks" (exact words). He laughed mockingly at me, and I got annoyed with him and just walked away. His mockery was meant as a message that this information was not for me to know. I've always wondered if this meant anything, because I still don't know what to make of it. |

Well I know the Magic Kingdom might refference to Disney World in FL; as for that sarcastic statement you got from the guy listening in, maby that means that the information you got will be realized when the time is right. It might mean someone is looking out for you. I also know a girl whos eye color changes from blue to green, so its possible. Although dont count out that the whole dream is random. I have something that Im trying to figure out; in my first dream I noticed the radio was out of place, and as soon as i realized it "Amazing Grace" blasted on the radio. Funny because I dont listen to that song. Ive been wondering what the meaning of that could be for some time now.

I would have thought Disneyland (especially since I'm in SoCal), but if that were true, then I wonder why he didn't just say it? He made it sound like it's what I and his dad would call "the magic kingdom" as in what we'd nickname a place (example: I call other places "The Happiest Place On Earth" that have nothing to do with Disneyland).
The sarcastic guy was actually enforcing what I've already been told over and over again. I've had card readings done before where the cards have told me that this dream guy is someone I'm kind of destined for, but the most they will ever tell me is that I'll meet him when I'm ready. They never tell me what ready is, and they always make it like it's not my business to know. (It's like they think I'm an incompetent child.) Lastly, the eyes didn't change just one color. It was like they were going through the color spectrum. They went from blue to purple to pink, red, orange, yellow, green, and back to blue. It was almost like watching those light show screensavers on a computer screen. As for yours.... According to hyperdictionary.com/dream: "Dreaming that you are listening to the radio, symbolizes your awareness and intuition toward a particular situation. What you hear through the radio also represents messages from your unconscious. It is possible that it is some for of ESP or telepathic communication. Dreaming that a radio is turned off indicates that you have the ability to help or assist in some situation, but you are refusing to do so." And then "Amazing Grace" is generally associated with funerals (at least that's the only time I've ever heard it), but it also applies for faith and church. Here are the lyrics: "Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, That saved a wretch like me.... I once was lost but now am found, Was blind, but now, I see. T'was Grace that taught... my heart to fear. And Grace, my fears relieved. How precious did that Grace appear... the hour I first believed. Through many dangers, toils and snares... we have already come. T'was Grace that brought us safe thus far... and Grace will lead us home. The Lord has promised good to me... His word my hope secures. He will my shield and portion be... as long as life endures. When we've been here ten thousand years... bright shining as the sun. We've no less days to sing God's praise... then when we've first begun. "Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, That saved a wretch like me.... I once was lost but now am found, Was blind, but now, I see. I hope that helps you understand yours. |

Thanks for getting me the lyrics, that was bugging me up till now. It would seem to me as some sort of spiritual message, if at least only a thought, coming to me. This didnt take place to far after another strange series dream Ive been having. This is from another post topic, but nobody's took at shot at interpertation. Personally I think its odd because im not super religious individual, although im starting to think otherwise. As for your dream I think if you do meet this [person] it would in a place that has some special meaning to you, and it would most likely have meaning to the other person as well, a seemingly otherwise chance encounter. The eye color puzzles me so far....
I dreamed of a flag pole and on it was a Christian Flag [on top], the US flag [middle], then my state flag. And after I noticed it some lady tried to run me over...kind of humorous. Recently I had another dream in which an older lady came up to me and said very clearly "God will be testing you".

I have lucid dreams where someone or something is chasing me, trying to kill me, then i realise I'm dreaming and lay down on the ground waiting for it to attack me so I can wake up. But I actually feel pain sometimes. What is with that?

Hello Leks,
If you know you are dreaming, you are half way there. Next time, if you are being chased, pluck up the courage to turn around and face your attacker. You should then find there was nothing to fear, and the attacker turns into something nice. One attacker even apologised to me when I turned around. It takes a lot of courage to overcome this fear of something you cannot see, but when you do, it is well worth it. You realise it was your own fear that was causing this dream. 'Nothing to fear but fear itself'. Let us know if you manage to do this. Good luck.
