Hey all,
I'm new to this board but I have a lot to share and a lot to learn. I have tried this tip before and it has worked on occasion. Has anyone else tried it? For this to work consistently, you must have a consistent sleeping schedule. What you do is set your alarm to go off 90 minutes before you usually wake up (or when your alarm normally goes off). Do this every other day to get your mind into the pattern. For example, I go to bed at midnight and wake up at 1030am almost every weekday. So on mondays and wednesday, I let my alarm go off at 10:30, on tuesdays and thursdays I set it for 9am. If done consistently, what should happen is you'll start "waking" at 9am, even on the days where the alarm is set for 10:30. You condition yourself to wake up at that time but when there's no alarm you should have a more conscious dream. If I don't have a lucid dream at this time, I find that it at least gives me the opportunity to write a clearer dream in my journal. P.S. This works because of how dreams occur in 90 minute cycles, so what you're actually doing is training yourself to wake up in a vivid REM stage. Last edited by kbpapke : 03-07-2008 at 12:19 PM. |
