Hi, a few nights ago I experienced a dream where I had control over what was happening, not what the people in my dream were doing but who was there and where i was, I told my friend about this and he thought it might of been a lucid dream which up until then I dont think I had ever came across the term.
The dream was three nights ago and since then I have had another dream where I believe I was in control, it went like this ... At the start of my dream I was just arriving at my house, I have no recollection of where I had been I just knew that I was going home, so I walked into my kitchen and looked up at the clock on the wall (which is like a natural reaction for me know when I'm in my concious mind), I noted the time (2:02, which was odd because outside was like a sunset/sunrise) and proceeded to the counter where it was as if my concious mind wasnt accepting something that was happening in my dream so I turned back to the clock and noticed that all the numbers were replaced by symbols, not like squares and triangles or egyptian hieroglyphics, they were more like an ancient language the sort of thing (similar to that of daedric for anyone whos played the elder scrolls series), I stood staring at the clock for what felt like an eternity as I questioned what I was seeing and why I could not make sence of the clock, throughout this the time did not change even though I could hear the ticking. Then I figured it out I must of been dreaming and the world around me disappeared and I was in a sort of empty fog, realising that I was in a dream by this point I was unable to wake myself so I was just stuck there, it seemed as though time was racing by but I was stuck in a state emptiness almost like I could feel the world turning but I was not a part of it. Then I started wishing that I was at home in my room and it generated around me, I was in total control of my body and I walked to the window and could see outside as if it was all real no odd colours or unusual entities on the horizon, followed by a sound similar to white noise that built up over a few seconds until it was all I could hear then I woke up a few mins before my alarm went off. After talking to my friend and reading up on what a lucid dream was, I went to sleep that night with no intention of having a lucid dream, and I dreamet in a non-lucid state at this point that I was going to my friends house (the same one that told me about lucid dreaming) to discuss lucid dreams, when I got there we were sat in his room having a casual conversation about dreaming when out of the blue he says "Check out this new clock I bought" in a sort of excited fashion as if clocks are the new thing. when I turned to look at the clock upon his wall it was the same one from my kitchen and it had the same foreign markings and the time was once again 2:02 (this time it was light outside so it could be afternoon), then in a matter of seconds my concious logic recognised this clock and its markings and the world disappears again, this time though I know or at least hope that I will wake up from this so I try and go home again but got nothing, after some thinking and trying to get out of this horrible void, I try a shot in the dark and treat it like a sort of programming language and I was able to move to places, it worked like I would think to myself "goto myroom" and I was there, I took a walk around went outside, all was normal, took a walk down the road because I couldnt believe what was happening, all seemed fine but theres this road, well more of a lane that I hadnt been down in real life and it was just replaced in my dream with that misty moor, the surroundings that I had seen were normal just where the road went to was mist, I walked into it thinking that if I went in and saw what it looked like then tomorrow I would go down that road and see what was acutally down there but once I took a few steps in that noise came back and I woke up, so it seems if I am infact having a lucid dream that I can only go to places that I remember or at least have some vague knowledge of. Also this morning when I was talking to my mum I was saying that I had a crazy dream, didnt go in to details, but I asked her if 2:02 meant anything to her jokingly, she looked at me oddly and told me that it was the time that I am recorded as being born. So thats freaked me out, and I wanted to get things off my chest without getting funny looks from my peers. What do you make of it, am I just dreaming of a lucid dream or am I actually experiencing one? |
