Exclamation Deathly Lucid Dreams

I have the worst nightmares in 2007. The most memorable nightmares happen when I am lucid dreamimg. I have never had an interest in lucid dreaming but it happens to me anyways! It sucks! Imagine your sleeping but as your dreaming away you can see your bedroom as is? Its like your eyes are open yet your admist in a dream. Now you know your dreaming because you can see part of your pillow, wall, a good view pretty much. I force myself to wake up by clinching my fist. Sometimes it works, other times I dream that Im awake again, only to realize that I am still stuck in the dream. Trying to wake myself up is a STRUGGLE. Clinching my fist is the best thing that works after repeat efforts.

I get teary eyed when I think about my experiences. I usually feel like something is WATCHING me, looking down on me, and Im scared. Im 21, and still having nightmares!?! Scared is an understatement. Once I was dreaming that I was floating above in my bedroom, only I was looking out my window so I did not see myself sleeping. Thank goodness right.

experience #1

I fall back asleep around 7am. Some mornings I wake up because Im thirsty and then I go back to sleep. By 9am the sun was shining down in my bedroom (last summer'07). I wake up, Im starring at my wall. Sometimes I sleep facing my wall. I see my big thick blue and white blanket over me and withing seconds I feel the pressure behind my bent knees as if a heavy person is slowly sitting down on my bed. I mean it was not like one minute its just me, and the next minute I feel a heavy man sitting behind me. I actually could feel the weight slowly push my matress down. I was scared. I do not know if I was awake like I thought or still in a dream- lucid dreaming. My eyes were open too but I was too scared to turn around so I shut them tight. A minute later I didnt feel the weight, and I ran out of bed. I may have been lucid dreaming because I noticed that when I do lucid dream, I can see my bedroom as far as my eyes are open. Does that make any sense? Just imagine sitting frozen in a seat not moving your head left or right. You can only see what is infront of you. Thats what I saw. My wall and blanket. This was a very frightening experience.

Experience #2- My second most horrific nightmare and lucid dream was when I dreampt I was falling off a cliff. That was an extremely long dream, like most of my dreams. I'll get to the point. I am falling off a cliff and I know I am going to die. I immidiately come to turns with my death. I think that Jesus will be there. All of a sudden I feel the most calm, and satisfied feeling I have ever felt in life. I was not upset that I was about to hit the bottom. I WAKE up in my bed. I am surprisingly lying on my back ( I never ever ever do that! it reminds me of dead people in a coffin). Within seconds I see a red bulls face with thumb-size horns on the top of its head. I really can not say if I was awake or asleep. I mean my dream was of me falling off a cliff and I wake up starring at my ceiling in my bedroom. Now I have a scary box-shaped bull face starring down at me. It was not exactly looking at me in my eyes, but rather looking past me or straight at me, just not perfect eye contact. The face was in arms reach of me in the air. I thought okay is this the devil, or a demon. Wait a minute? I dont believe in demons!!! HAHA but what is this? Immedidately two men in dark grey-black cloacks with hoods on, come attack me. One man on my left (on the wall side) and one man on my right side (I had a better view of him). Their legs were faded. It was mainly upper bodies. They grabbed my arms and held me down into my mattress. I closed my eyes and squeazed my fists. Slowly I could not feel them touching me anymore. When I got up I ran downstairs. It was perfect day light. It looked the same like when I woke up after falling off the cliff. Thats what I mean by lucid dreaming, I see my room, I know I am dreaming. I saw the sun shinning in, my bed, me laying on my back facing my ceiling. After I finished clinching my fist hard I saw my room as is- in the day light.

Now every time I am lucid dreaming I feel pressure when I wake up. Its a weird feeling. Its like Im fighting to wake up. Its an usual phsyical pressure. I almost feel paralysed and frozen and Im suffercating almost. Then I squeeze my fists, try to move around but can't. Try to scream but can't.

How can you explain my experiences? Does anyone else have nightmares when they lucid dream?

i used to get alot of nightmares.

whats happening is that real beings from other realms of this universe are attakcing you and feeding off of your fear. they instill fear and eat up thewatsed energy. you have these being visiting you becasue the see you as a nice healthy morsal of food. what you need to do next time you see those devils or whatver is to chase THEM. with the intention of taking all of their energy and using all of you will power and intention.

I can totally relate to your lucid dreaming and im not sure if it's "beings who feed off your fear".... I mean who knows it might be?! but, what about a correlation between diet and sleep? What do you eat before you sleep and do you eat right before sleep? In my old appartment my experiences were exactly like yours, i'm lying in bed, i swear i am awake but i'm not and then i am being lifted...floating right up out of bed...TERRIFYING and i FEEL everything.....i force myself to wake up but can't. BUT since i have moved, i have lucid dreams but nothing scary anymore...just feels like another 'reality'. So maybe it's the energy of your place and/or diet before sleeping. I'm just tossing out ideas....

Darling how can you believe in jesus and not believe in demons, it was jesus who freed people from demons in the bible!!! Anways the fact that you are falling is no good, it means your going down in life prolly spiritually since you remembered jesus which is very good, since he made you feel better. But beware because you saw a demon which means that evil may invade your life and try and take you down, your dream means to just rely on jesus, pray and go to church, jesus is love and mercy never leave him and he will never leave you.

Lucidreamer,
I believe your 1st experience is called a "Paralysis" dream...I have had it also before. Where you are halfway awake & asleep,...but it feels more like your awake & you scream at yourself to move, get up, but instead you keep flinching only in your mind. You can see your bed & surroundings...

I believe in the scientific term is when you are in REM sleep your neck muscles become stiff or paralyzed so you dont "Act" out your dream & start throwing yourself somewhere or walking while your asleep (Your could really hurt yourself) So I believe sometimes when you "wake up" during this time frame...your muscles are still in REM stage of paralysis & cant move but you mind is awake.

Default I have that dream

I was searching online for some clues as to why I experience this dream when I found your post. I have had the same dream/nightmare, it started as I was going to sleep, i was just lying in my bed, all of a sudden I felt really strange, it felt like I had no control over my body but I had control over my limbs, I felt as if I was being watched and that shadowy figures were closing in on me. I then started to float from my bed still unable to control anything, I tried calling for help as I knew I was dreaming and just wanted some one to wake me up. when I finally awoke my heart was thumping and I was sweating. The fact that I knew I was in my room and I could see my TV and window just made it a whole lot scarier. I don't often get them but when I do Its the same sort of feeling/experience.

OH MY GOD! NO WAY! This EXACT same thing happened to me, but I had no idea what it was. Even to this day I'm not sure whether I was dreaming or not, but I guess I must have been. I don't know if it was a "man" that was putting pressure on my mattress... but it was just extremely freaky... here's what happened.

I was just lying in bed, it was morning, I think I was about to wake up or maybe I was already awake, not sure, and then I feel this presence behind me, I feel pressure on the mattress as if someone just sat on it, (I usually sleep with my blanket over my head), and then all of a sudden, there's a hand (I didn't see the hand but I know it was there) and someone trying to take the covers off me. I *FREAK OUT* and when I turn around, no one is there. I'm not sure if I was awake or asleep or not but either way... I went back to sleep, and as SOON as I "fell asleep" there was the presence again... and I woke up again... went back to sleep again... and AGAIN. I was so freaked out I called my boyfriend at the time because I wasn't sure if it was real or not. Scary stuff.

Default Similar experience.

I'm not sure if I would call your experience necessarily a "lucid dream" (when I think of "lucid dreaming", I think of being fully conscious and being able to control the dream state), but I've had a similar experience.

Back in the day, when I was a Christian and a "deliverance minister", so to speak, I lived in Salt Lake City, Utah for six months. I was laying on the couch one day and took a nap. As I was waking from the nap, I felt this presence seize upon me, trying to struggle me. I was a Christian, so the best I could manage to do was to cast it away in "Jesus' name", but my tongue was bound. So I just thought it in my head.

While this was happening, I was fully aware of the room I was in. The lighting was exactly the same and there were people discussing something in the kitchen. But I was in a dream-like state. I later confirmed it with the people there and they said they were in the kitchen at that time.

I've since became an atheist and now an agnostic since that experience. But I'm becoming more open to the supernatural again.

However, I do have a question. For the last few nights, as I have been going to sleep, I've had an odd experience. I'm laying in bed, falling asleep, when suddenly it feels like I'm dying and I startle awake with a jerk. Is this the onset of sleep paralysis? It almost feels like there is a separation, like something has "ripped" out of me and it is in the heart area. Any ideas?

Thanks for the replies everyone. Im sorry Im checking so late.

To answer/reply, I rarely eat right before sleep. I live in a house that had 2 other families before ours but its a nice house, nice area. I dont feel any bad presence here. I do not believe in demons. The Bible, if youve read it, does not discuss demons. The Revelations talks about the future and it can get scary thinking about all of those details. But a demon..come on. I can be naive and I am certainly open to many many ideas. I do believe in the devil, perhaps feeding off of my fear.

As for the heavy man sitting next to me, it may have a been a spirit. I was scared. As for the times I see my room, the more I realize I see my room, my eyes are half open, the more my dream ends!! completely ends. So Im stuck starring at my room. One time I saw this dark thing infront of my eyes, only to wake up and see that its my damn hair. But again, my eyes are half awake so it was hard to tell in the moment. I can never be an atheist because I have too much faith. But hopefully these sorts of dreams will just end.
