Strange party

This was an experience that I had about a year ago, which I have no explanation for. If anyone can shed some light I would really appreciate it.

I was staying in a hotel with my husband and baby daughter, all in the same room. The hotel was fairly old, but also completely empty of guests. I found myself at the point in-between sleep and waking so I was completely lucid but had not yet moved to wake myself completely. I could hear a huge party going on in the hotel. I could here the music, the voices laughing and talking (you know that buzz of chatter), glasses, footsteps outside the door. I kept myself from panicking and tried to just lay there listening. But when I hear the door handle from the room being turned I couldn’t take it anymore and pulled myself out quickly.

Of course everything was silent and no one else heard a thing. I know it was not a ‘dream dream’ as I was half awake and lucid. Any ideas out there?
