Hi there. this is my first post here and although I don't know if I'm posting in the right forum, I want to share this experience that I had yesterday.
As the title indicates I'm not sure if it was either a lucid dream or an astral projection experience, but after reading something about astral travel I asumed that was it. I fell asleep quickly because I was very tired, and tho I knew I was already sleeping I saw everything around me as if I was awake. I saw the walls of my room, the ceiling and the door in front of my bed and I knew I had my eyes closed. Then I started to rise out of my body in a slowly way. I felt floating above my body, it was very odd and it felt really nice but still I was afraid so I tried hardly to wake up and so I did. Anyone had a dream like this? I'm very happy that I found this site as I love dreams and dreams interpretation. I had so many weird ones that after reading their meanings actually helped me many times. |

Hi!
I'm pretty new too, but welcome! It is a great site, I've always been fascinated with dreams! About yours; I too had a dream where I fell fast asleep started dreaming (?) (it felt quite strange at the time) then I was looking down at someone (about 2-3 ft above) and realized with great shock, that it was ME, sleeping! I don't remember it scaring me, thought it was pretty cool actually! But It didn't last but for 10 seconds maybe. I went to work that morning with that on my mind and told one of the older ladies about my "dream" and without hesitation and very matter of fact she said, " That wasn't a dream honey, the was an out-of-the-body experience" I was astonished!! And very excited to say the least! I wish I could do it again!! Take care and have fun!....Laura |

I'm new on this site and just now getting to read some older posts. Here is an experience I had. Was it a dream or astral projection?
I laid down for an afternoon nap and I felt a pulling on my body. Can't explain the feeling. Then I saw that I was above my body. Then suddenly I found myself sitting on the bank of a beautiful stream with pine trees all around. Sitting next to me was a friend I hadn't seen in years. He was like a big brother to me, but after he graduated from highschool, he went back to Montana to get married and we lost track of each other. We sat on the side of the creek and chatted for awhile and then I woke up. That sounds like a dream, but what happened next makes me wonder. When I got up, I felt like I was weightless. I knew I was walking through the house, but I felt no pressure on my feet and I felt absolutely wonderful and light. The feeling lasted for well over 3 hours. I've never awaken from sleep feeling that way before or sense. I've tried to locate my friend, but have had no success. I wonder if he had the same experience... if we were actually together. I got out my oil paints and painted the scene. It is hanging over my sofa now. Last edited by Dale : 10-15-2007 at 12:39 PM. |

Hi Dylan,
I just found this site this morning. Last night I had a dream that I was projected beyond the boundaries of my room and through space to a place beyond our planetary system. At first I was scared as I have been many times in the past, but this time I decided that I had nothing to loose and went with it. I felt myself first start rocking back and forth then separate from my body. I then flew from my room through my house then beyond the boundaries of our atmosphere. I could feel the air rushing past me as I traveled. I saw the earth shrink and was then in amongst thousands of stars, I laughed and felt very free. I flew past the outer planets then started slowing down as I entered the atmosphere of a strange planet. I saw mountain tops and clouds nothing else. At this point I no longer had a body, but felt as if just the essence of my being existed there. I heard voices around me welcoming me and others to this place, I believe they were elders of sorts. I laughed again and could feel it through my entire being. I was in what I believed to be another plain of existence. Shortly after I felt like I snapped back into my body and I woke up. Disassociation caused by extreme stress, some might say so. Fanciful dream, maybe but it felt too real to be that alone. I don't have the answers but, These are the most exciting times in my life and I cherish every time this happens. Enjoy them. |

hey dylan....hi.i have experienced a situation like yours but little different. let me describe it to you. i was in the bed ready to sleep. i remember that i was thinking that there was no way for me to have an astral projection excerience that moment because i had a fit of coughing. before i knew it i had fallen asleep.i don't remember if it was in dream or in reality but i heard something which made me open my eyes.when i did it i saw this view, i was lied and i was getting down to my body and in this moment i was feeling something like electricity passing throuhout my body. then maybe i had awaken and i open again my eyes and all i could see was a wholw black and then was when i realized that i was tucked in the quilts. after that i was feeling like i had no energy at all inside of me.
