What are your thoughts about dreaming about fictional characters? Do they act like the way their creator intended to in your dream or do you influence his/her behavior? And what do you think might cause a dream like that to happen?

As I said in my reply on your posting: Dreaming of a fictional character, it really depends on who that character is. Are they from a book? TV series? Film? The answer, I feel, lies in the kind of things you watch or read, especially for pleasure. Or you might feel that you can 'improve upon' the plotline, or even ending to them. I sometimes do that if a feel the conclusion to a Whodunnit isn't to my satisfaction! Who knows. Maybe you could be the next Agatha Christie, or Steven Spielburg!! Cheers, Jon.

Hi there,
Fictional characters have a wealth of meaning, and wheather they are male or female in dreams will also determine the context of the characters symbolism. Taking the premise that the dream ultimately relates to the dreamer and that the dreamer gives each of the characters in the dream their impetus, that is their driving force, momentum and personality, then it can be seen that the character itself portrays something of the characteristics of the dreamer. Men tend to reflect certain behavioural patterns, attitudes and opinions that the dreamer has where as females reflect a set of feeling values, an emotion or intution that is pertinant to the dreamer. Taking all these into consideration can tell you a whole lot about what is going on in self, yourself that is. Seeing a dream as an inner stage and the characters as acting out in some way the inner dynamics that are at play within our selves will help you to understand your dreams more fully. We are the dreamers therefore we are responsible for the voices and thinking/feeling patterns we attribute to our dream characters. When looking at a dream sometimes it is easer to actually disown or not take respoinsibility for our set of inner voices and rather continue to choose to see these behavioural patterns and feeling patterns only outside the self in other characters, what is commonly called projection, so dreams can challenge one to take responsibility for ones self. I hope thats answered your question a little, if you have any more questions please ask Best to you Marce |
