Are my dreams really that strange?

So I have really vivid dreams, but they usually never really border on any reality at all. Anyone who knows me agrees that my dreams are just wierd.

A couple of examples:

I had a dream about a T-Rex who had a beer belly and a comb over and a compulsive drinking problem.

I had a dream that Darth Vader was living with my parents and that they were on good terms.

Is there anyone else out there who has been told they have really wierd dreams?

Also, is it abnormal to sometimes dream in cartoon?

The description of your dreams would indicate that you do not have any responsibilities, nor worries, in your life. It almost sounds as if you reside in an institutional establishment where all your basics needs are provided and where there is little anti-social pressure upsetting you or causing you undue concern. To dream in cartoon form or in any other guise depends on what currently interests, intrigues, or fascinates you, or even of the subjects you are studying.

Interesting, however I don't know that explained my dreams well enough to be clear. While these things appeared in my dreams, they weren't the main elements. Let me go further in depth with them:

T-Rex Dream

I start the dream out in a waistland filled with crators and volcanoes and no vegitation. I spy from afar a fearsome dinosaur. I am affraid, so I hide in a crater, it doesn't see me and moves on. I wander out of the crater, and find a little town that looks like what an old western town might have looked like. I find a friend and I nervously tell him about the dinosaur that I had seen pretty close to the town, he doesn't seem worried at all. We walk along for a while and I see the dinosuar except now it looks quite different. It was still the same size, which was pretty large, but before, it was dark skined, fleshy and ominous, but now it is yellow with purple hair, with a beer gut, and it's drunk, swapping laughs with other human drunks at the bar. Dream ends.

Darth Vader Dream

So I'm at my parents house, upstairs in the laundry room, doing laundry(at the time of this dream I lived in an apartment and did my laundry at their house), I have the door open, and I notice that someone is coming. I look out the door to see Darth Vader, in his ominous, shiny black suit, escorted by a couple of storm troopers, come out of my parents master bedroom and march past the laundry room doorway. I'm curious, of course, as to what nefarious things Darth and his entourage had been doing in my parents bedroom, but also a little fearful to find out. But nonetheless, I creep out of the laundry room to see Vader heading down the stairs toward the family room, so I follow cautiously. I peer around the corner at the bottom of the stairs to find that my parents are in the family room! But to my astonishment, Darth Vader starts making small talk with my parents as if they are old friends. Well now my curiosity is peaked even more and I walk into the family room to see what is going on. Darthy and my parents notice me now and they turn to greet me. My father, puts his arm around Vader, and says "Son, meet Darth Vader."

"Hi! (Coh-pah)" he pleasantly states in his deep voice, "Would you like to watch Star Wars, Revenge of the Sith with us? (Coh-pah)"

He, my father and the storm troopers sit down and I, dumbfounded, stand there looking on. Meanwhile my Mom brings in some popcorn for the Sith Lord and and he politely says "Thank you. (Coh-pah)" and starts eating it as the movie begins.

So I guess I was surprised enough at that moment for it to bring me out of sleep - end of dream.

Well every dream symbol is in some way connecting to real life.Most dreams actually refer to the previous day or thoughts alive in your mind at the very present.

Take for instance the T-rex. Your dream seems to link to some thoughts that touch on the theme of males with comb overs and who generally act in a homer simpson type way. Its a metaphor for some real life situation or thoughts involving such a theme.

There is absolutely no way of truely knowing what a dream means. The dream language is not one that is easy to understand. There is no way to check if your interpretation is the correct one. There is no answer at the back of the book that is correct. Dreams do seem to link to recent events and in particular the day before. But they can also refer to premonitions and telepathy. Dreams then can work on many levels. Many people say that there are exxagerated claims about premonitions. It maybe true that a premonition can never be truely linked to some actual real life event. Yet it is also true that a conventional dream analyser can never truely say that a dream is linked to the dreamers own pyschology and recent thinking. All we can do is guess and hope that we have true understanding. Many dreams remain a mystery. We know that they may link to some event but their precise meaning seems often truely mysterious.

my dreams are wierd as well, i can be dreaming of a good time with family then all of a sudden im with complete strangers just by walking outside and back in. also i once had a dream the incredible hulk was chained in some back house . and we would tease him.one day he broke the chains and we ran .he chased me to a cliff. and swung his arm knocking me off .i could feel the air as i fell.i got in the fetal position just as i hit the ground.my whole body felt warm.and it seemed that i had hit the floor yet i was still descending.finally i slowed my descent and started to rise
