Not a dream... nightmare or what????

went to sleep last night normal as every other night. Watching a movie i fell asleep.
In the middle of the night, it was amlost 01:00 am, i woke up scared to death without even having any dream. Don't remeber if i had a dream but i woke up scared to death, dont know why i was scared i didnt see anything, but just seemed to me like there was something wrong with the room. When i looked i got scared looking at the room and seemed as it was somehow red but actually wasnt red. I rushed out of the room fast and went to call my mother, i knocked once she didnt hear and i came back and went to sleep again.
This was not a dream i was awake and scared. Actually from the bed i stood up fast being scared to death and there was nothing to be scared off.
What can this be? And this happened very fast.
