Lea is on a distinguished road
Default Is this a nightmare or?? but it is not a dream...!

I went to sleep last night normal as every other night. Watching a movie i fell asleep.
In the middle of the night, it was amlost 01:00 am, i woke up scared to death without even having any dream. Don't remeber if i had a dream but i woke up scared to death, dont know why i was scared i didnt see anything, but just seemed to me like there was something wrong with the room. When i looked i got scared looking at the room and seemed as it was somehow red but actually wasnt red. I rushed out of the room fast and went to call my mother, i knocked once she didnt hear and i came back and went to sleep again.
This was not a dream i was awake and scared. Actually from the bed i stood up fast being scared to death and there was nothing to be scared off.
What can this be? And this happened very fast.
If anyone can help me.
Thanks!

I stand to be corrected here but my guess is that you probably had a dream that was immediately forgotten by the conscious mind upon awakening. It does sound like an irrational fear which is not always easy to understand without knowing more about you and your life-style. Those are features that others experience so you are not alone nor are they unique to yourself. Finding its underlying cause would probably require a one-to-one interview with a counsellor.

As Jennings says you probably forgot your dream on waking. It is natural to forget most dreams.
When you go to sleep watching a film or reading a book you are not in a natural sleeping position. You may be sitting and slouching backward, sideways or forward. When your head hangs forward it sometimes obstructs your breathing an there is often a frightening nightmare needed to wake you quickly. I guess that is what happened to you.
Cheers Wolfjk

Well I would say that this is a nightmare. To me a nightmare involves the specific emotions of strong fear so yes I would say it is. The fact that there was no dream is less important. It maybe that you simply did not remember the dream. Short term memory banks are not turned on during sleep and so dreams are usually forgotten. Dreams represent immediate fears and problems. So I would try to link the dream with major risks and potential problems looming in your life.

------------------------
The connection between dreams and the day before the dream is really very strong. Its stronger than you would imagine. Thats because of the way that the mind is built. We store up memories in short term memory blocks. Then at nighttime we work through these and proceed to transfer them and integrate them into the long term memory banks. So always look for a possible explanation from the day before. In fact try to spot intuitions as they develop in your mind. What made you stop and think the previous day? What relationships have you been thinking about? What strong fantasies or paranoia's have been on your mind?

Of course a dream may have a different meaning. Dreams can be premonitions and can link to deep telepathy. But really do not pursue such explanations before you have at least tried some more mundane explanations. A dream may simply link to some simple everyday emotion.
