| General Chit-Chat Kind of like a lounge, just come in and talk about anything at all. Relax, this is like the water cooler at the office. |

That would happen to me to. Not as bad as you though, my longest entry was 7 pages front and back, and I thought that was alot. But I would start writing down the dream, then remember something else and have to write it down in the margin or wherever there was space to. Thats the reason I stopped writing down my dreams as well. I think I am going to start writing down my dreams again, but maybe just quick notes on the dream, so if I do remember something else I will just make a quick note it, instead of writing down all the details. Though it would be better to write down all of the details.
So maybe a tape recorder is a good idea. I often wonder about using one when learning lines for plays.... Or, maybe try what I do, write down everything you can remember just after you wake up. Possibly with sketches. After all pictures can 'speak louder than words'! Cheers. Jon.

The dreams I wrote down were just after I woke up. The dream came to me as I was writing it down and I would remember something else that would happen and have to write it down in the margin or wherever it would fit, and that happend quite often. I started drawing sketches for the last few dreams that I wrote down, after reading about sketching your dreams in the book "Where People Fly and River Runs Uphill" by Jeremy Taylor. Taylor was talking about how when you draw your dreams out you will draw out stuff in your dream that may be unique that you would not specifically remember without the visual of the dream. So I started sketching some of my dreams. But I think I am going to do quick notes and draw sketches, but I know OCD will kick in and I will have to write out the whole dream lol. -Sisonpyh |

I have kept a regular journal and a dream journal for as long as I can remember. Both journals really keep me somewhat settled and/or grounded. As someone else said, I keep mine on my bedside table. It makes it easy to just sit up in bed and write stuff down while it's still fresh.
There are also those days when I don't remember my dreams when I first wake up but then something sparks them into my memory later in the day. I'm a housewife now, but when I was working, I started keeping a small notebook in my purse so that if that happened, I could jot stuff down really quickly before I forgot it and then fill in the blanks and put it in my dream journal later when I got home. |
