Hi Licia

Sorry to hear your migraines last for such a long time! 3 days! Oh, poor one, I´d probably be dead by then... I do have migraines as well, but they seem to last for no more than a few hours, sometimes longer, but not for more than a day, and I´ve also tried all meds possible and none of them is of any help... So unfortunately I haven´t got any more knowledge of this than you do, I just thought I´d post this as I have similar experiences. And it´s killing me everytime... Glad to hear I´m not the only one suffering from this

P.S. Oh, if you ever manage to find something that helps you please let me know! I promise to let you know too if I ever find something to ease the pain. Good luck with everything

I used to get them as a kid whenever there were thunderstorms about. Clarity, Licia - I've just found this link on the Web. Hope it helps.

To many carbohydrates in the diet can trigger migraines; so too can cheeses, chocolates, red wines, and coffees. The time lapse between taking those substances and the migraine being triggered can vary between minutes to around 12 hours. Sometimes suppressed fear from past traumas can cause the problem. It takes a bit of detective work to discover the cause.

Thank you Jennings for your post

I´ve been vegan for 5 years so in my case I figure these seizures could be attributed to lack of carbohydrates. I don´t know...I still have no idea of what causes these, but I suppose I´m lucky then for they never last for days. There was a time when I got really wary whether they even are migraines in the first place, and so my brain was scanned but luckily no tumours or anything suspicious was found. Suppose there´s no choice but to live with it. Good luck for everyone!

I recognise that you will not wish to hear this but being a vegan it can almost be guaranteed that your diet is the culprit. I was a vegetarian for 18 years and it culminated in having to have a quadruple by-pass. One of my avocational interests today is dietetics and I can tell you that current research findings are casting doubt on the benefit of vegetarianism.

You might consider reading the four part article by Dr Mary Enig entitled 'The Oiling of America' also Sally Fallon's book 'Nurishing Traditions' and Dr Bruce Fife's book 'Saturated Fat May Save Your Life'. Those are only a few of the many recent publications denouncing current views on healthy eating.

For example, polyunsaturated fats (vegetable oils) are potent immunosuppressants and need to be avoided in the diet. Carbohydrates raise blood sugar level and regular consumption of them keeps the BS level high which subsequently leads to diabetes or diabetic-related health problems. Many cruciferous vegetables (and others) including nuts, seeds, and some fruit are goitrogenic.

You really do need to review your current belief on diet and health to awake each morning ready to welcome the world.
