We post a lot of dreams and interp a lot of dreams, but we don't often know the final outcome. Did the dream turn out to be prophetic or not? Did you ever learn if any of the interpretations given were accurate?
On this note, my curiousity prompts me to ask everyone a few questions. 1. Have you ever had a dream interpretated where someone offers a well-thought out and totally logical explanation about it, but their conclusions simply don't feel right? 2. Or, perhaps, have you recieved several interpretations on a dream for different sources and none of them totally click? 3. Then again, have you ever received an interpretation, which is totally off the wall, but when you hear it you just know that it was on the mark? 4. I guess what I'm getting at, should an accurate interpretation sort of slide in place and should the dreamer get a sense of satisfaction from it? 5. If the dreamer gets an interp that simply doesn't feel right, is it probably not the answer she is seeking? 6. Have you gotten interpretation that felt right and came to pass? 7. Have you gottten interpretations that felt totally wrong, yet turned out to be accurate anyway? Thanks for playing along. |

Hi,
Yes, I have received more than hundreds or even a thousand confirmation during these 5-6 years here in the old forum we have and you could search the words Varzandeh or confirmation that each time I used to thank the dreamers. But the point is that dreams always happen prophetic after a month or two and I personally had a dream that after 7 years I realized that it had happened each year a part of that in 7 years. In the holy books the dream of Josef for 11 stars and the moon and the sun fell knelt on his feet was interpreted after 20 years.

Personally, I always try to match any logical outcome to the interpretation of my dream... and if I find a good match, I post about it, well... when I'm able to find my original post, although sometimes, either I don't have time or I forget completely about my post or the interpretation. But I'll try to pay more attention to this board, the interpretators put a good effort on trying to decrypt our dreams and I think that some feedback it's the less we can give for their advice...
Alright, back to your questions: 1) Just 1 time, in which an interpretation -by Varzandeh, if I recall correctly- made me think "I would never do such a thing!", and then, after the day went by, I started to think... well, at least, not intentionally. Finally, I think the interpretation triggered some sort of "butterfly effect" which eventually led me to not fulfill what was depicted on my dream, but when I started to think things a bit slowly, I realized that if I had lived that day slightly different, it would have happened! 2) Yes, quite recenly. It's nice to see that there are more interpreters now, each one with a particular viewpoint on dream interpretation. 3) Yes, the same that in answer 1... 4) Well, it depends. Sometimes, an accurate interpretation would make you feel worried, or unsure of it, according to its content. In my case, my most recent interpretation seems to tell me that a sorrowful event it's going to happen to me and one of my friends... however, if it turns out to be like the other dream, I'd be really satisfied. 5) In my case, no... I tend to see every possibility, and wait to see if it would be the right answer. 6 and 7) Yes, it has happened. I think both were by Varzandeh, although some comments from sirbobrobinson helped me to understand some events... |

Hi. Most times I tell varzandeh when he's right and for the 3 years I've been here even when I don't want him to be....he has been. Perfect example was that in october I had a dream of electrocution while going to work and he said that it meant financial trouble relating to work. I was like...what trouble I've been there for 8 years...well sure enough january 12 I was let go. Just like that. I immediately thought back to that dream and what he told me. So yes....for the most part....he's very accurate.

Hi,
Thank you both for your confirmations.Of course I don't presume myself as an interpreter but I am trying to introduce this kind of interpretation. I am trying to be helpful.I have even translated the book I use andput here in the Dream Dictionary Advanced, hoping people can use. Thanks again

Well I know many people believe in vandandez and his predictions. Yet I must say that I remain skeptical. Take the example that 1qt gives that vandandez the dream meant "financial trouble relating to work". Well if you wait long enough then something is bound to happen. The prediction is firstly very loose and can mean lots of things. For instance the prediction does not say who the problem will relate to - will it refer specifically to the dreamer or would it relate specifically to the dreamers boss or coworker. If you wait long enough something will fit into the prophecy given.
What I also do not understand is how the bible is able to help with the interpretation of dream symbols. To my knowledge there is no portion of the bible that deals with dream symbolism in any specific way. yes the bible includes lots of dreams and they are interpreted. But the bible does not contain a dream dictionary. Do not get me wrong as I do believe that dreams can be premonitions. My own view is that premonitions come true usually very quickly. If someone was going to have a dream about 9-11 before it happened then they would have it on the very morning of 9-11. We seem to be able to tap into the future and its gives us a taste of the emotions and situations that are about to occur. We receeive this knowledge for no good reason as the dreams simply shows events as they will occur. Some premonitions can relate to a much longer scale but they will be much harder to differentiate. Personally I am aware of dreams that could have been long term premonitions in my own life. Yet these dreams are very rare and its difficult to say when such dreams are premonitions. I just had that gut feeling. If someone else has a gut feeling then I also try to warn them that its very easy to get carried away with premonitions about the future. Its probably best to not to delve too deeply into them. You maybe trying to read into the dream some premonition that is just not there. Many dreams can simply relate to the day before. ----------------------------- The father of modern dream interpretation is not Freud or Jung but rather Jon Winson. But he never made a single dream interpretation. Instead he conducted research into the mind and established that certain brainwaves (theta waves) only appear during the night time. During the day we store up all new experiences and feelings in short term memory. Then at night we start to work through what happened the previous day and we integrate these into long term memory blocks. Then finally we clear short term memory blocks ready to start the process again the next day. Its likely that any dreams we have are linked to these brain functions. The weird images and feelings once deciphered capture our own feelings and new insights into the world around us. So the dreams then will often link to specific events from the day before and to new ways in which our world has been reshaped. It may simply link to our paranoias and fantasies. If we are focused on something about to happen in the near future then the dreams may link to that. Each dream captures one specific feeling or thought process. Quote:
Many people come onto this board for interpretations with fixed ideas. They may have read a dream dictionary, followers of Jung or Freud, believe dreams to foretell the future, or simply get frightened of a disturbing dream. When I give an interpretation it is mainly from my own experience of life. Although I studied Jung, Freud and many more, modern science made their ideas of dreaming and life almost obsolite. Perhaps Freud should be credited with discovering the subconscious part of life, but on dreams and their interpretations he was way out. During more than 60 years of study I came to the following conclusions: Dreams relate only to the sleep they happen in. They are as much part of life as the heart, brain or any other life supporting organ. I believe that there are no prophetic or precognitive dreams. However many people believe their dreams are precognitive. There is a logical reason for it. We consciously anticipate what is likely to happen in the future. We plan ahead. There are many streams of thought go through our brains every minute of the day. most are forgotten, however the subconscious can bring back any experiences or events that happened long ago, and long forgotten when it creates a dream for an occasion. I think all of the precognitive dreams originate from the sleepers previous conscious musing or anticipations. Quote from Sirbobby: Do not get me wrong as I do believe that dreams can be premonitions. My own view is that premonitions come true usually very quickly. I read many hundreds, perhaps thousands of dreams that were posted on another dream forum prior to 9-11. Not one predicted the actual event, Yet ofter the disaster there were countless claims of dreaming of the event. However as Sirbobbyrobson might know The film: The Towering Inferno had anticipated something like that happening. The feeling that a dream is precognitive comes from the desire of the dreamer to tell the future. Quote by Sirbobby: Well I know many people believe in vandandez and his predictions. In central Europe the gypsy fortunetellers used the same method of monetary inducements, generous time scales ("it will happen in months or years time") multiple meanings, targets that were bound to be reached, and events that were likely to happen sooner or later. All this was reinforced by putting the fear god into the already credulous punter. There are always some people who are less critical. In my interpretations I give an honest opinion based on long experience of my own and other peoples dreams. If someone gains comfort or satisfaction it is great, however posters who seek a different interpratation can and should reject my take on their dreams. I learn from that as well. Cheers Wolfjk

In interpreting dreams we all seek the turth. I remain open to the fact that I maybe wrong. But i do believe that dreams do link to the here and now. That they capture thought processes and feelings. That they reveal how we store thoughts. Yet I am at times open to your ideas(wolfie). That dreams may reveal the brain trying to keep itself busy. that inside our heads we have loads of energy and that we are already tackling problems and situations to come.
I know when I first looked at dream forums the first thing I checked was the date 9-11. This was one date that for everyone was truly a personal event. I would have - like you - have liked to have studied such dreams. I am not sure how I would have studied them but i am sure that they could have been a very strong case study for seeing if dreams are premonitions. Yet unfortunately the dream forums that I looked at did not go as far back as 9-11. ------------------------ By the end of the day we are tired and exhausted. Thats generally because of how the mind is organised. We store up memories in short term memory blocks. Its only at night that we start to work through what has just happened the previous day. We reform our emotions and transfer the important bits iof information into long term memory. Then we clear the short term memory blocks ready for the day ahead and the whole process starts again. So obviously there is a strong connection between the previous day and dreams. Look for the thoughts dominating your previous day. They will probably link to your dream. Hi SirBobby,

Instead of short or long term memory, there are more important and less important memories. However every event whether it is important or not leaves a trace in the brain. If you analyse your own dreams perhaps you can trace memories of trivial events that may have happened years ago. Some of my dreams contain memories from the day before the dream and more than 60 year old. However some people remember less others more. If you play competitive games or do sport, the memory of a good game is there for all times. When I came on line there were several forums that had recorded dreams from the 1990's I think one forum went as far back as late 1980's. On one forum there were more than 30000 recorded dreams. There was non that clearly indicated the things to come. However if one lives near a chemical plant or oil refinery where there is always a chance of explosion, there are always people who dream about it. You may remember Flixborough.

I like the fact that you chose to use my example to try to be skeptical of Varzandeh HOWEVER.... I didn't choose to include all of the interpretation in the explanation. Didn't think I had to. Should you wish to see how it actually went down, might I suggest you do a search and find the dream as it was posted and Varzandeh's response as it was given and why I said it matched. There is no reason for me to acknowledge someone or give someone props if they in fact did not do something worthy of such recognition and unfortunately for you kind sir, he deserves his do on that particular one. Also, you will denote that he will be the first to tell you that he is not an interpreter which we never said... what we did say is that he is pretty good at interpreting the dreams as we describe them. What would be the big deal in giving him what he is due on the ones that he actually has gotten right? I guess I just don't see or understand what the problem is.
