Exclamation Always Tired!

I been getting a lot of sleep in even though I remember waking up during the night every now and then, but every time I wake up I can barely open my eyes and keep them open, because I am so tired. On the bus on the way to school I will catch myself falling asleep or I will jolt awake out of my sleep not knowing that I had dosed off and throughout the day until I return to my bed I am tired. During the day I am always yawning and sometimes the sleepiness makes it hard to pay attention. When night comes and I am in my bed with the lights off I seem to wake up and I am not tired anymore, unless I wait until passed midnight to go to bed. It usually takes me anywhere from a hour to four hours, take or give, to get to sleep. Do you have any suggestions on how I can get a more fitful rest? I do not want to have to take any supplements, medicine, ect. Noting like that.

Hi there Sable

Just a thought - Intention is a powerful thing. Maybe if you intend to go to sleep early and have a good rest at night, it will work out for you. Or else - finding something, some occupation you're passionate about - that would occupy your thoughts during the day and keep you awake.
Sweet dreams

try to sleep abit earlier. it would help you stay up during the day. take a hot bath and drink some milk before bed. having a fresh sleep would help you.

Default Lavender

Lavender is very relaxing, and is often used in dream pillows and in mist to spray on your pillow and around your bed before going to sleep. You can make your own mist easily with a spray bottle filled with distilled water and a few drops of lavender essential oil, available at most health food stores, or a favorite online store is <

You can probably also find dried lavender flowers, and put them in a little cloth pouch, and place that inside your pillows. It also makes a good tea, which you can brew and drink before bedtime. I've even gotten the dried flowers packaged as McCormick's herbs recently for baking with. I had some delicious muffins from the health food store that had lavender, ginger, and cardamom as the flavorings... yummy!

I wonder how you start the day foodwise? Do you eat a good breakfast with adequate protein, because that is important too. It will kickstart your metabolism. A lot of get problems with sugar blues when we eat too many carbs, especially early in the day.

Hope that helps!

lol the smell of lavender is overwhelming and bothers my nose, but I do like tea, but I drink that at my sisters house and it does not seem to have any effect on my sleeping habits.... I rarely eat breakfast, b/c I do not like eating early in the mornings (I have to wake up at 6:00 for school and I do not feel like doing anything, but going back to sleep)

try exercising, it usually makes it easier to fall asleep and sleep better. as little as twenty to thirty minutes of activity helps. And you don’t need to do all 30 minutes in one session. break it up into five minutes here, ten minutes there. and don't take naps. if you do nap it's going to be harder for you to fall asleep latter.
