Hi all,
Sorry I haven't been interpreting in the group for awhile, but I had to make some fundamental changes for Your Dreams Interpreted by Gordon Jerome. I stopped taking tips, now I do the first one free and 2 for $9.99 after that. People can still mail in, but now I have a nice little automated form they can use. And I got hooked up with PayPal, so no one has to mail cash anymore, but they still can if they want to. In addition, I really want to take my astrological readings public, so I've been working on a way to do that, but it'll probably be another month or so. I use astrology a lot in my dream analysis, so they kind of go hand in hand. Anywho, I'm back in the forum now and eager to start interpreting dreams in here again. See you all out on the main board. Sincerely, Gordon

Gordon, if you'd write a best selling book about dreams, you could charge between $80-150.00 per dream like Robert van de Castle does!

Well, a bestseller is definitely something I hope I can achieve one day, but I don't think I could charge that kind of money in good conscience for an interpretation. The question is, what does one do if they start getting flooded with requests? How does one keep it to two or three a day? You can charge a bunch of money, and then all you're doing is rich people's dreams, and that doesn't sit right with my spirit, because people are people; spirits are spirits; souls are souls, you know? You can go on merit, but then that sets you up as a judge of who deserves an interpretation and who doesn't. You can do only high-level dreams, but maybe it's the low-level dreams that deserve the most attention. You can have a lottery, but that's a joke. I don't want to be wealthy, but even more, I don't want to want to be wealthy. But I want to interpret dreams, and I want to do astrological charts. I think I have a knack for it, and I really, really like doing it. I like connecting with people that way, and I grow from it. Interpreting a dream is like having the dream myself. God is talking to the dreamer, but I get to listen in. I think I will do whatever it takes to become as good at what I do as I can. I'll try to make money off of books, maybe radio, maybe classes, but interpretations are always going to be cheap, and I'll just have to let the Divine Ruler of the universe guide me to the ones I'm supposed to do, and trust that He has. What else can a person do? You've been doing this publicly for awhile, right? What do you suggest? --Gordon

Hi Gordon,
I actually don't think Robert van de Castle does a lot of them, it's more like he's supplementing his retirement income, I suspect. He's working on another book about angels in dreams, and one of my dreams might be in it. I know him slightly from some email lists we were both on. He's got a PhD too, probably in psychology. His book, _Our Dreaming Minds_ is, I believe, used as a college textbook, plus being a very ongoing popular book on the subject, because it's so well researched and written. He's a very nice person too. When I was scared about opening up psychically, he very kindly sent me a tape he had made about PSI in dreams. He's a very active member of the International Association for the Study of Dreams (IASD), and once sent me a photo of himself dressed up for their dream character costume ball (something they do for their annual conference) as Carl Jung's spirit guide, Philemon. He's a dead ringer, if you've ever seen Jung's painting of his guide. I only do dreams I feel a pull to, and feel that I have something constructive to offer on. Sometimes, I have actual psychic hits as well, and often they come in the morning before I've read the dreams, as I'm waking, which can be odd at times... I have this vision, then go to read email, and finally understand what the vision was about. It's a funny process, but if I don't have that pull to a given dream, I pass on it. Some just are not mine to do, is all. I seldom do nightmares, simply because I rarely have them, so don't have a lot of experience with them. Work in your own comfort zone is what I'd say! I agree with you... I also get a lot from interpreting other people's dreams. It is amazing how they can often be very universal in their messages! Well, scooting off to bed for real now! Sleep well! |
