Default Bickering is Draining...

I just want to say this morning that the bickering going on is draining, and sure as heck does not put me in the right frame of mind for dream interpretation. If I come in here, and I see too much of it, I'm just exhausted from reading! It affects me negatively. So... I'm not even going to try to do interpretations in that atmosphere. Thus, I wish the people participating and instigating would cut it out! Elsewise, you're going to lose at least one dreamworker.

And hey, maybe you don't care. In which case, I've got to wonder what you're doing here.

I'll check back tomorrow.... maybe it will be better?

You are right, it is draining. Don't want you to leave Iris.
For myself I will try to ignore posts that bait. Beyond that what can be done? Please no fighting people.

I came back after leaving, and really should not have. I am leaving. I decided. I enjoyed your input, and Nfo's and Archie's and a few others, but mostly, I just come in here and get frustrated and drained emotionally, and that's just not what I need! There's no monitoring here, no structure, no nothing that smacks of being civilized. I prefer civilization, really. So, since I'm the one who's dissatisfied, I'm going to take the initiative and leave! Perhaps I can find something smaller and more personal without all the bullies around.

You take care, Mwyna!

Hi IrisRavenstar,
I'm sorry you're leaving. This forum is the best on the net. Here they don't tell you to believe in precognition or else...!
There are some querky characters her but they don intend any harm. My lighthearted or humorous posts are often misunderstood, and my interpretations or coments are sometimes blunt. I get abuse sometimes and never take offence.
Perhaps you are abit oversensitive! If you look at this thread posts 4 5 and 7, you will see what I mean.
Perhaps you will be better on the "if this were my dream" forum.
Best wishes Wolfjk

Probably. While you are a bit of a plonker at times I don't think you are doing so to be cruel. Or hope not anyway. Maybe because I am also in the UK and can recognise your humour. Anyway, I admit to being midly annoyed at times but not enough to make me give up eating my curry. Even if it does make me have a belly ache and dreams of giving birth to grape flavoured lollies.

It's been getting to me too & that's partially why I haven't been spending quite as much time on here as I used to. Good conversations never seem to last very long before someone rude & imposing shows up to "spice up" the conversation by telling everyone they're all wrong. Replies to such posts always take a long time to carefully word so as not to further offend anyone and not give them anything else to pick on (cause rest assured, if you slip up and use the wrong word once, they will miss the whole point as they jump all over your mistake), and it seems to be pointless anyways, because even if you get them to stop fighting in one thread, they'll always pop up in another thread to pick on someone else that might not see through their crap. It's aggravating and obnoxious, and I think in the future I'm gonna stop being so shy about using the "Report Post" button, and I may even send a message to PaleHorse about the users that consistently provoke arguments in their posts (rather than looking for threads they agree with, contributing to the conversation, and making progress), just to see if he/she is still around. I agree that people like this are ruining the forums for everyone else, and even scaring off the new users & I've had about all I care to put up with myself.

We'll really miss you, Iris (the things you've said have taught me more than I've had opportunity to explain and properly thank you for), and if you find another place that seems a little better, feel free to send me an email or private message. For now I'm sticking it out here, but if there continues to be too many trying to argue and not enough that are willing and able to help, I'll eventually be looking around too, & I may even try finding your Yahoo group so we'll still be able to compare ideas.

Mwyna: You've also been especially helpful in many ways (for example, last night I looked up and started reading about the Sumerian texts & beliefs & I'm finding it fascinating. I was curious about some things karmicresponse said about the Annunaki because it bore a lot of similarities to things hinted at in a strange, Christian, fiction book I once read: The Tombs of Anak), so I'm glad you're still around. Take care and stay cool, both of you.

Perhaps the jokes are a bit under-sensitive & maybe people don't find it as funny as you do & get offended because they can tell you find their beliefs so amusing. Maybe you don't ever get offended because you're already certain that you're right and anyone that doesn't recognize that is wrong. It's not so much what you say, but what you imply that is offensive. For instance, "Here they don't tell you to believe in precognition or else...!" (no, but YOU make it your mission to tell everyone else NOT to) & "perhaps you will be better on the 'if this were my dream' forum" implies that she thinks she owns the place (which is only true in your mind). I've never seen her force her opinions on anyone or try telling them how to think and as a result most seem to find her thoughts helpful. Most of your posts people argue with and take offense to, so have you considered that it might be your approach that needs a little adjustment, not everyone else's? Iris at least explains where she's coming from and only gives her thoughts where they might be well-received. It's taking quite a bit more time and effort to find what you've studied and where you're coming from, but I'm slowly beginning to understand you better (I don't personally dis-like you at all), and I really think you sent this post as a nice gesture meaning well, I just wish you'd "put yourself in other people's shoes" more often (considering how they might react), because if/when someone gets offended, they lose sight of the point you were trying to make & all potential progress is lost. Whenever that happens it's truly a shame.

Nfo you say words far better then I do sometimes. Iris too. Which is why I will miss her greatly. I've spoken up a bit, but not much mostly I don't want to come across as a mother hen though I do feel like sending people for a time out sometimes. Maybe it's just my nature as a parent! But you are right, the report button should be used. Also it's kind of rediculous that as adults people can't agree that all interpretations here are OPINION. There is no wrong or right. There have been some very offensive posts, ie the ones calling people drug addicts, psychos, possessed and then the less offensive ones that still hurt people's feelings. We really should not be picking each other apart at all. I don't understand it
On a side note, I might try to get ahold of The Tombs of Anak especially if you see similarities. I don't mind if it's fiction. I'm rereading through the Sumerian texts again. It's hard to wrap your head around old texts at least for me as I try to put myself mentally in that time period in the hopes of understanding their meaning more. I've been wanting to read the Etruscan texts too though I believe they are mostly funerary in nature. Anyway thanks for the tip on the book and I am glad you are here too and glad you are staying. I'm not giving up on here yet.

P.S. Who's PaleHorse?

Hi,
I started posting on this forum in 2002, and had long and deep discussions with many posters. Unfortunately the old forum crashed and allwas lost.
As you can see, this forum has a big turn over. Many people come for help, many come to know what their dream may mean, many people come because they think what their dream means and want the others to reinforce their beliefs, some came to try to dominate the forum, and some come to advertise their site.
I try to help as many people as I can, however there are always people who do not like the truth. If a person comes here with a drug induced dream, I know ror sure he or she will not reply or even take offence to my interpretations.
I keep to my beliefs and try to give an honest opinion on the dreams I reply to. Occasionally I use humour or irony, which most people don't understan. It is my style.
I made a humourous remark about Irise's reccomendations of all the "curing" herbs and medicines, however if you read all her posts and count all the ailments she listed which she is suffering from, it is obvious to the discerning person that she is doing herself harm. What is wrong with telling her in a light hearted way?
What would you think if I put a questionmark after your handle?
Cheers Wolfjk
