Does anyone else have music in their dreams?
Do you think it helps symbolize what the dream means?

Hi devilishangel,
Yes, I do get music in dreams sometimes, and yes, I think the songs, the lyrics, are important symbols within the dream. It's really easy now to search for lyrics on the internet too, even if you only have a line or phrase or something, and you can see what the whole song is about. I also sometimes get some odd sort of sing-songy eerie music sometimes, not a known song, and again, it's the lyrics that are important to try to remember. The sing-songy voice just seems to be a way of getting my attention! It helps me remember the dream.

I get this all the time.
I'm also a musician, and have gotten some of my best song ideas from melodies that have come to me from dreams.

I've had this happen as well, but it's usually just a tune or melody (no words) that I wished I remembered more of when I awoke. I've played guitar for years, & I have trouble writing my own original songs in waking life, so I really wish I'd have more dreams like this.
The only time I remember dreaming of a song that I've heard before, with words & all, was when I was moving to a town I had never been to, where I knew nobody but the friend that went with me & was seriously worried about my future (& if the friends I was leaving behind would be ok on their own). I fell asleep sometime after the sun was up & dreamed that I was still awake & that someone closer to the front of the bus had pulled out an accoustic guitar & began playing "Mother", by Pink Floyd. Immediately after the words "Mother, do you think they'll drop the bomb?" I woke up feeling calm and worry-free, thinking "I couldn't see his hands but that sounded like a "G" & a "C" chord. I wonder if it's really that easy of a song to play," So I pulled out my guitar, saw that those were the right chords, & easily figured out the rest of the song. I love musical dreams, but unfortunately they're so rare for me Last edited by NfoJunkie : 06-22-2009 at 03:44 AM. |

Hi,
In dream language symbols listening or hearing music in the dream means a sorrow or a fight or argument is on the way.

I often dream of opera I've never heard before. It's kind of strange since I'm not a big opera fan. The music I hear sounds beautiful like a choir of angels or something.

A few months ago when I had a crush on this guy, I had a dream and the words to a song started playing. Me and the guy could hear it. It was Official Girl and I remembered the lyrics "Listen, today makes it a year, don't you thnk its time you made it clear" and "It'd be a shame to say you lost me but if you want that its a wrap and I won't look back".
It was weird cuz I didn't listen to that song before I went to sleep but at the time it been a year i liked him and those pieces of the song totally related to the situation cuz i wasnt sure if he felt the same way and he was confusing. I don't get music dreams very often though. Haven't had one since this one which took place months ago. |

Anyway, most of my musical dreams have just been about the music. Very rarely have I ever heard original lyrics that I have remembered.

I sometimes have music in my dreams but its usually of a song ive been listening to recently...its very rare for me to hear the music change to show whats going to happen next, like in a movie when you get the dramatic music if somethings going to happen
