If eyes are the window (or mirror) of the soul; then are dreams what our eyes see when we're asleep?

Dreams can also be what we make of them.

Hey Zuludawn!
What the heck, I'll post what flows... Everything real is not in form. Form (regardless of density, meaning 3D matter or dream symbols and imagery) is the explication of the Soul, or Spirit, all around us. Physical life is a constant revelation in symbol, of what is real in truth. If a person does not shield it, we can see far more truly into the actuality of a person via the eyes, than we can when looking at anything else about them (or listening to them, or reading their words, etc.). It is the only place on/in the body where depth, meaning and inner felt essence is obvious beyond the physicality of their being. When you look inside the earhole, you see physical darkness. Or, with light, you see physicality formed. But when you look into the depth of the eyes, what you see goes well beyond physicality, well beyond beliefs or ideas about who or what a person is, into the energetic reality of beingness. The amazing thing about eyes is that when you look into another person's... you can feel yourself. Directly. Not via beliefs or thoughts, but to the core of Self. This often brings up fears, unfortunately, but the power there is unmistakable. The eyes are windows to the Soul because when we look into them, we both see and feel a person's energy - their energetic signature, their essence, their soul. And realize they and we are directly connected... on the inside of us. Dream scenery is another form of explication of the soul (or spirit or essence, whatever word you choose). It too is "form" of a kind (symbolic), however, so it is in actuality an interface for the human consciousness to "see" its own soul or essence in terms that bridge "the two worlds", so to say. There is in truth no separation between the Soul and its human aspect, but the human mind's perception tends to perceive the Soul as "other than" human or itself, especially because the soul seems ineffable and non-physical, and most humans are well identified with their physical beingness. So the dreamscape is a venue for translation from Soul to human Self, though again they are both actually One Self. The Soul reveals a great deal in dreamtime that the human personality rarely grasps. Each image and symbol has depth of meaning well beyond most human comprehension. But Soul nevertheless uses the dreamscape to reveal itself to the human personality, throughout the human life. Some human beings never look to their dreams to Know Self, some can't help but do so, some play with it a little, some choose to thwart the Soul's intent in that arena and use the dreamscape for their own smaller purposes, etc. It's another layer of the whole Self's consciousness, basically. Just as human's use their minds to think in various ways about just about anything (which constitutes a layer of consciousness), they use their dreaming consciousness for various purposes, as well. All of it yields experience, which is the soul's reason for birthing the human personality to begin with. So it's all good. The Soul has no need to see as we do, it already sees far more. It uses the dreamscape - that level of consciousness - to communicate with, relate with, interact with, the human personality self living its life in physicality. The Soul knows life directly, in energetic essence... whereas the human personality tends to know life indirectly, via symbols of physicality. Dream time is a meeting place between these two types of [self] perception. What the human brings back to conscious, waking awareness is but a very small portion of what is conveyed. Regardless, the meeting place is used, it tends to stir curiosity in the human personality, and seeking to understand occurs. This is the point. All life seeks fulfillment. Every soul fragment eventual rejoins its wholeness (soul), and dreams assist in that process. Thanks for posting! Sowelu Last edited by Sowelu : 04-23-2009 at 04:44 AM. |

Hiya Zuludawn
All of us, if we choose, if we dare, have access to life's truths directly, within ourselves. The Path is Through The Heart (not the head). That is where the information in the post above flowed from for me when I chose to respond to your post. What flows through the heart is a living truth, available "in the moment". In every moment. It is what informs us all, ceaselessly. Anyone and everyone has access to it. The mind lives in the past and the future, so it does not enter the present moment with any sense of awareness or confidence. The heart is timeless, existing in the eternal NOW. Ask anything of it, and it will reply with WHAT IS and nothing else. Credible? For me it is the only source of truth. For others what comes through me from my own font of wisdom, my heart, can only be considered an "outside source", unless they too go directly within and find it there for themselves. Again, the path is through the heart. Namaste (derived from Sanskrit (namas): to bow, obeisance, reverential salutation, and (te): "to you", it translates to: "I respect that divinity within you that is also within me." Or "The light within me honors the light within you".) This is a greeting that honors this place I have called "the heart". That place in each of us where we are One. That place we see when we truly look into each other eyes with no guise. In essence, we are the same. In form, we are merely different flavors of the same thing. Love. ~Sowelu |

Dear writer: in actuality what we see with our our eyes, neural pathways and the brain. I.m going way out on a limb here on this one. The brain is said to occupy the head whereas the mind is said to be a feature of our light being or spirit. There have been tests conducted in which innocent projectiles were launched at personages and the light being observed these projectiles a few milliseconds before the brain did. There is quite a bit of mystery surrounding the mind-brain communication channels. The book "The holographic Universe" goes into areas like these. Its most likely the best book written in the last 15 years.

Quote:
IrisRavenstar is in part, one meaning, a picture of an eye... the Iris is the colored part of the eye, the rainbow. Raven is the blackness of the pupil, our inner student!, like a black hole, taking in everything it sees, even light. Star is the white light, the white of the eye, surrounding and protecting the whole eye and the student within. Eyes matter for sure, and our ability to see runs far deeper than merely the physical reality in front of us. "He who has eyes, let him see..." --Jesus |
