Default I cannot control my eating of junk food

Hello everyone,

I am a working executive, working long hours and addicted to fast food, usually eating while I'm in the office. I seem to eat whether I'm hungry or not and have got to a stage where I am unable to control my eating habit. Unfortunately, my weight is increasing and I'm being forced to buy clothes a size larger than normal. I can devote a little time to exercise, but is there a recommended safe way to lose weight? I've heard of all these diets, such as Atkins, that don't sound very healthy at all.

Hi,
It is difficult to change a habit. My guess is you find your work too boring. Selfcontrol is the best policy. However you can help by thinking about one of Shakespeares lines in the Merry Wives of Windsor when he talks about Falsestaffe: "THE GRAVE GAPES TWICE AS WIDE FOR A FAT MAN"
Have a piece of paper on your desk and start doodling every time you feel like eating.
Cheers Wolfjk

Hi,
I fully understand your problem - its quite common that people working long hours in offices pick up habits like eating junk food and set aside no time to exercise. Junk food is a serious health risk. My advice would be the following:
• Stop eating junk food, or at least cut it down to eating junk food a maximum of once per week.
• Start some simple, low key exercise such as walking
Use a great product I have tried that actually burns body fat. Highly scientific and armed with worldwide patents it should have a noticeable impact in a short period of time. More details here given below in my signature:

Research some pictures of obese people, who had the same problem as you.

Don't listen to anyone who says faddy diets work. Just try and reduce how much junk food you do eat.

Drink more water. Sometimes when you are hungry, you are actually thirsty. Water fills you up! And makes your skin a lot better. About 2 litres a day is what is recommended. It should also help you concentrate more at work.

Also tell your colleagues about this aswell and ask them to help you!

Hi Montgomery,

I've read many helpful suggestions, I hope to give you a few more. Try bringing some fruit or veggies to the office such as carrot sticks, celery, eat salad, furit, etc. If you do some research, you may find healthy fast food choices, but I would limit those. Instead pack your lunch with healthy food choices. I would definitely drink water and steer away from soda even diet soda. If you are able, try exercising an 1/2 hour daily by walking. It doesn't have to be done at once and can be spread out over the day. Another helpful way to get exercise into your day is to take the stairs as much as possible, walk around the building, or even through the park if you can get away from your job. I know that it must be a challenge and if your job is stressful it will make you want to eat all the more. BTW, that it another benefit of exercise, I feel people who participate and it even burns fat after they're done. I hope you're successful.

P.S. I lost 30 lbs 4 years ago and its hard work, but I know it can be done and you can do this! Try MSN Health you can subscribe to different newsletters pertaining to weight loss. I got many good ideas from the web.

Smitty

Default Junk Food

I had to lose some weight and found going to Weight Watchers helped. They have weekly meetings and will educate you about portion control, so you can eat just about anything you like while losing the weight. It works. Of course, they encourage you to cut down on sugary foods and alcohol--lots of calories you would have to burn if you consume these. Since you don't have too much time to exercise regularly, portion control is your answer.

Exercise. Eat less.

Do you think maybe that your job has become a trigger for your habbits? I used to be overweight... well, I still am a bit but just enough to be happy. But anyways, TV was a trigger for me because I would eat while I was watching it. I would be at home with nothing to do but watch and eat, or so I thought at the time. I never really started to lose weight so much until around the time I stopped watching television.

Life is short. Just remember that you always have a choice. You control your destiny.
