You dont have to read this thread if you dont want to.You might want to have a bible along side you.

The topic of is anyone christian caught my attention.Also what people posted on that thread.However, True christians
-Base their teachings on the bible
The bible says"All scripture is inspired of god and beneficial for teaching,for reproving,for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness,that the man(or woman) may be fully competent,completely equipped for every good work".(2 Timothy 3:16,17)
The apostle paul wrote to his fellow christians"when you recieved Gods word,which you heard from us,you accepted it,not as the word of men,but, as it truthfully is, as the word of god".(1 Thessalonians 2:13)
So true christians base their teachings on the bible
--Worship only god and make his name known
(You may be wondering but isnt gods name god)
However God does have a name.
Certain bibles may not contain gods nameThey substitute his name for lord or god.But that is because most people believe that gods name is to holy to mention.However, why would gods name be mentioned in the original hebrew scriptures many times if he didnt want us to say it.We may use gods real name but not in a disrespectful way.
Gods name translated is yahweh without any vowels.But with vowels it is Jehovah.(note your bible may mention his real name or it may not)

Also some people chose not to say gods real name because they dont know how to pronounce it.However that dosent mean you shoudnt use it.
--Gods true worshipers worship no one other then jehovah.
jesus said"It is jehovah your god you must worship, and it is to him alone you must render sacred service.(Matthew 4:10)
Thus, gods true worshipers worship no one other then jehovah.
jesus set the pattern in helping others to get to know god, as he said in prayer" I have made your name manifest to the men you gave me out of the world."(john 17:6)
True worshipers teach others about gods name,his purposes and his qualities.
--True christians show genuine love for one another
jesus said "By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love among yourselves.True christians do not take up weapons to kill their christian brothers or anyone else.Not only that but true christians unselfishly use their time, energy and recources to help and encourage one another.True christians deal honestly with each other and help one another in times of distress.
Galatians 6:10"work what is good toward all".
--True christians accept jesus as gods means of salvation
Jesus gave his life as a ransom for obediant humans.And jehovah requires that we obey jesus and apply his teachings if we want everlasting life.The bible states
"He that excercises faith in the son has everlasting life,he that disobeys the son will not see life."(john 3:36)
--True worshipers are no part of the world
jesus said" My kingdom is not part of this world."(john 18:36)
Jesus true followers are subjects of his heavenly kingdom and thus maintain strict neutrality in the worlds political affairs.However gods true worshipers do not interfere with what others choose to do about joining a political party, running for office or voting.Because gods word commands them to"be in subjection" to the governmental "superior authorities".(romans 13:1)Where there is a conflict between what god requires and what a political system requires, true worshipers follow the example of the apostles who said, "we must obey god as ruler rather then men."(Acts 5:29,Mark 12:17)
--Jesus true followers also preach that gods kingdom is mankinds only hope.
Jesus foretold "This good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all nations and then the end will come."instead of encouraging people to look to human rulers to solve their problems, true followers of christ proclaim gods heavenly kingdom as the only hope for mankind.(psalm146:3)
Jesus taught us to pray for that perfect government when he said"let your kingdom come,let your will take place, as in heaven, also upon earth."
Gods word foretold that this heavenly kingdom"will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms(now excisting)and it itself will stand to times indefinite."

(This not only determines a true christian but the true religion)
Ofcourse you may be saying but there are so many religions out there how can you say that there is one true religion?
jesus said that the true religion would be evident in the lives of the people who practice it."By their good fruits you will recognize them,"he said."every good tree produces fine fruit."(mathew 7:16,17)
Meaning that those who practice the true religion would be recognized by their beliefs and their conduct.although they are not perfect and they make mistakes true worshipers as a group seek to do gods will.
