Default Sleeping with the TV On

I bet that most of you do sleep with it on but does it affect your dreams? Kind of makes you lucid. Plus, it's kind of creepy to wake up to some horror movie or some weird comedy at 4 am in the morning and then drift back to sleep. =.=

I tend to not have any dreams with the TV on.
Although, it's really difficult for me to drift off to sleep with anything playing.
I only really keep it on when I'm to freaked out to go to sleep without it.

Default I can't

I'm a very light sleeper so it's almost impossible for me to sleep with anything playing or any kind of lights being on. But, I can see your point. I bet it's real easy to be half out of it and dream about what your hearing. I guess if your one of those types that have to have the tv on to go to sleep it would make for a fun experiment. As long as it wasn't a horror flick lol

i usually can't sleep with the tv on... but i did have one horrible dream because someone had turned the radio on, and it was playing "into the fire". i dreamed my house was burning -_-.

Hi,
It is not very safe leaving the TV on. There is always the chance of it overheating and causing a fire. Apert from that you are wasting electricity.
Regarding dreams; if you go to sleep the programme, the light and sound can allimpact on your sleep. However the cause of bad dreams is usually drifting off to sleep in a bad sleeping position. That can cause real nightmares.
Cheers Wolfjk

I do so all the time *blush*. It's my husband's fault, really; he says he can't sleep without some kind of background noise in the room and is too stubborn to try to "wean" himself off doing so. I'd be happy to sleep in complete silence.

I remember dreaming about the King of the Hill characters a few months ago as an episode was playing on TV.

Hello All,

For those of you whose partners sleep to the sound of radio or TV when you prefer silence, you may want to consider using soft earplugs and a sleeping mask to subdue the sound and lighting distractions. I hope this helps.

Default tv

every night i set my timer on the tv for 180 minutes. that gives me enough time to watch a little and fall asleep. i never dream about what is on tv. although i may dream something else and wake up before the 180 is over.

I always leave my TV on, if i dont have something to distract me from the real world my mind never rests, it can be relaxing, and if im fed up of the light i'll just se my laptop and play some music, although i cant have no light in the room or i get scared, especially if its dark and silent,i feel suffocated and im to afraid to scream and emagine all kinds of things happening =S. The tv often helps and doesnt usually affect me whilst im asleep with my eyes closed ^^
