Can we end this virtual religious war?

Hello Everyone,
There seems to be quite a lot of religious debate going on recently. Not only between believers and non religious, but also religion on religion, and even between members of the same religion. I know that I have been guilty of this and I apologise for any comments that I have made in the past regarding beliefs. It was petty and small minded, and I apologise if I offended anyone. (Apology to Resin8love for questioning your name. Reading your posts I realise you do deserve it).

I was thinking that this kind of squabbling is what has disrupted the peace on this planet for thousands of years. If we are still fighting over the internet, then we are no better than during the dark ages when people were burnt and killed for their beliefs.

For those who do not belong to a religious group, we need to accept and respect the views of those who do. And to accept they have a right to follow their religion if they wish.

For those who belong to a religious group, it would be nice if you accept that just because someone is not religious, it does not automatically make them morally bankrupt and unable to tell right from wrong. (Catholic priests have abused young children in the past, so this argument doesn’t really stand). Although I don’t subscribe to the religious view of the world, I admire the amount of knowledge of the scriptures on this forum and your unshakable faith. Also, please stop fighting amongst yourselves.

Also, please don't feel that you need to 'save' anyone who doesn't ask. We are all old enough to make up our own minds. If anyone feels the need to turn to a religion, they know where to they can go to find out.

I believe that everyone wants to find peace and happiness and they have the freedom of choice to follow their own path. I would really respect someone of religion to turn around and say, “This is what I believe. But this is only one path of many. I do not claim my path to be any better than the rest. They are just different. Afterall, we are all trying to find our way ‘home’”

In the future on this forum I will refrain form making any disparaging remarks against any religion. But I also hope that I will not be questioned about my beliefs or moral integrity. It would be really good if we could get back to analysing dreams and keep the theology to a minimum - unless a dream analysis really calls for it.

If I may mention my view on this topic,

It will be very difficult to get people not to refer to their beliefs since dreams are in many cases based upon their own belief system and they feel there might be some shortcomings and they do not alway have all the knowledge that they could find on this site or have people with similar situations they can identify with.

You have always the option to agree or disagree or just think it has no meaning on your life and let the other boys argue to entertain you.

This is part of the world and there is no way you can cut it off from peoples thoughts. If you are not religious in some way, what are you? Just another piece of meat with no cause in life, just trying to survive the day and die?
That is how it is with animals and if people prefer that and are happy, good for them, but I am always going to mention that there is more to life than following the life of an animal and you are missing out. After that I will be content, because I did what my Lord Jesus commanded me to do and He will do the rest.

Now people can reject that, but can never say they did not hear or read the Truth to use it for some excuse they cant or do not want to go to damnation.

If you had a best friend and he was about to do sky diving you saw that there was a problem with his suit and if he jumps he will not be able to open it, will you warn him or think there are many ways of packing the suit and that the person who packed it knows more than you and stay quiet?
There is only one way you can pack a parasite for it to work and your friend did not make it! Guilt will eat you up and your life would be ruined by it!
I hate Guilt and if you told hey mate your suit is wrong and he said to you that can never be the case and still jumps, you will be able to sleep like a baby pretty soon! We all make decisions and take its responsibility, so I believe we cannot be close minded and just look at man as your answer, because who is man at the end of the day.......man is cruel, evil, backstabbing, lust for money, jealousy, etc. until they see what this fairy tale is all about and that we are part of it and there are two ends to this story. Something to think about.......

I agree that honest open debate is always good. However, it is not honest, open debate when the two parties are not prepared to listen to each other and respect that each has the freedom to make up their own mind. It is also no good when one party calls the other derogatory names like ‘Retard’ for having opposing views. That is when it stops being a healthy theological debate.

I am sorry but this board was NEVER intended to be anyones religious soapbox. Getting sick of reading religious threads, this is a site about DREAMS not religion.

I am removing threads that are made for soul reason (pun intended) to preach.

I dont care what you talk about, I am not your censor, but I wont let this board "become" a religious board either.
