Is this a highly religious place?

Default Is this a highly religious place?

I was just wondering because I see a lot of references to god and the bible in many threads. I'm not trying to be rude or anything, personally I'm an atheist and was curious as to if I may have stumbled into somewhere I may not be welcomed.

Hi,

Yes, most of the interpretations here are given by the holy books.
No, You are welcomed too.We will be happy to help with your dreams. Don't worry only 1 in 1000 has a true belief.

Hello Harl1quinn

Glad you’re here. The religious ranting that goes on here is most annoying. I love discussing dreams and trying to help people overcome nightmares, but I left this forum for a while, as I got really fed up with all the god botherers.

Just ignore them. I occasionally throw in a comment to their religious rants just to ruffle their self righteous jesus feathers a bit (there is a 19 page 'fire and brimstone' effort currently being fought in the general discussions area), but for the most - I blot them out. Just don't get sucked into a theological discussion with them.

Best to stay out of the prophecy forum as well. That is really annoying.

Glad to welcome another non-religious-non-mind-controlled person to the forum.

'bad' (labelled by bible thumper) idgy

Hi there,

I guess I am one of the one's that are refereed to here as religious freaks.
This forum is about dreams and does not victimize anyone, so you and the rest of the world is very welcome in this forum.
It does sometimes happen that the topic asks for some debate over religion, doctrines and beliefs, etc. and then we try to be objective, listen to what other people say and reason if there is some confusion.
It is your choice to be an atheist and I am sure we all respect that and I suggest if it becomes to Biblical you should just ignore that topic.

There are many people in the world like me who seeks the Truth and try to share the good news to others so that they can receive the same blessings we do. For someone who does not belief in the afterlife those discussions can become very scary and it is easier to stay in your comfort zone hoping for the best that your view is the right one! There is just too many stuff pointing out that there is a life after this one and being naive is not going to be a good enough reason to be Saved unfortunately.... that does not cut it even in this life!

In some people's dreams they get nightmares about demons and hell and they are afraid to sleep, it then becomes to them more than just a dream and seeks help! If they tried everything, we can offer them one more option to get freed from fear, they have nothing to lose!

But then again, its not all the dreams that go so far, Wolf and the other boys do some good interpretations to give you their version of understanding that might make sense to you.

All the best!

PS. I would like to ask you your view on something very basic if you don't mind, How does an atheist determine what is moral or immoral, right or wrong? Is there any objective standard or principles you refer to?

Yes there are quite a few, I for one am religious however I am terribly annoyed by the endless arguments over who is right and who is wrong. Just stay out of all religious topics you can because they are meaningless/endless arguments.

I think morality is a question left to each individual. I am an atheist and follow a lot of moral values close to so called christian values but my sister, who considers herself a believer in god, is in an open marriage. None of it really makes sense to me. I just follow the golden rule of "Do onto others what you would have them do onto you." It by no means makes me a religious person. I even think people that organize in groups in weekly meetings about atheism are kinda silly because they are basically making a religion out of atheism. My view is basically this, don't try to shove your religion down my throat and I won't tell you why I think your religion is a bunch of fairy tales.

Its quite interesting that you mention that some see it as a religion, because its true and if you want to be an atheist you have to live your life a certain way, like any other religion.
To do onto others what you would have them to do onto you, is probably the most important fact which Jesus commands his servants and you are following the same path. There are many Christians that lives the same life as you, but the only difference is that we believe that Jesus is the only being that can save us in the afterlife.
I am sorry that you think the Bible is a fairy tale, but what if you were wrong and you lost your chance to get the Gift of eternal life.
What I would suggest, is that you search for the Truth yourself, without fearing that someone will come and shove there doctrine down your throat.

All the best!

Right on! Except I'm not athiest, so I would probably go with "Don't shove your views down my throat please." I really like hearing people's views on God, learning about their beliefs, and why they believe what they believe. It's the shoving that makes me sad.

Thats the thing, I believe there is no afterlife. There is nothing after death but decay. Unless you are cremated, then you don't decay all that much. I don't see any christians walking around with eternal life, don't think the whole eternal life thing is working out of your guys there. And its not a fear of people shoving religion down my throat, its a reality. They knock on my door and preach it to me, they hold it on their signs at the clinics and my grandfather is a minister. I'll pass on the fairy tales.
