I have always wondered this and I doubt anyone would ever know the answer, but these are some questions I have always pondered about dreams:
1. When you are in a large group of people, or there is lots of people around in the world you have dreamed, and they are talking, carrying on conversation, and even if you can't hear everybody, are these conversations going on for real-without you acknowledging them? Maybe you only hear some people, or they are too far away too hear, or your back is turned to them, even if your ears can't hear the conversation, are there true conversations going on? 2. When you dream of places and say for instance, you walk outside or into another room, does the place you just left disappear or is it still real just waiting there for you to possibly re-enter, or is the whole dream already played out before you even dream it, and as things are being made in your head-are other things or places being destroyed? 3. Do the people you meet know they aren't real, do they have any substinance or any thought of who they are-I've also heard that groups of people can carry on the same dream-are we linked somehow, and maybe not conciously, but do we really interact with real people in our dreams across our souls or subconcious? How do we know for sure what we dream isn't shared with others? Sometimes we do meet people in real life that seem familiar to us-that would be a quite interesting thought. ** There are alot of people who don't remember their dreams or think they don't dream at all. Maybe there is something more to that. Who knows what the human mind can conceive or the power it can do. |

I doubt that I can answer all of your questions but I have a few ideas.
In Jungian psychology, one of the best ways to improve our relationships with the dream people that we meet is to treat them as being “real” people. As many of us know, it is often difficult to get dream people to do what you want them to do. They have their own goals, priorities and agendas, which often do not agree with ours. But, when we treat them as real people, when we listen to them and when we work with them, our relationships with them will improve. Do these people have an objective existence? If the dreamer dies, do they die as well? I’m not too sure. I suspect that many of them do die. However, there are others that do seem to have independent lives. It is not unusual for Jungians to see some of the same “people” in the dreams of different people. However, these beings are not really people but are instead mythological beings or deities. And, they are often difficult to recognize. They rarely jump up and tell you that they are Odin, Bridget, Quan Yin or some other mythological entity. In addition to the more usual dream beings that we meet, a dreamer will occasionally encounter someone who does not come from his unconscious or the collective unconscious. This could happen during astral travel or OBE. However, he might also meet deceased friends or relatives. And, there are probably actual spiritual beings who sometimes visit us while we sleep. When a person journeys deep enough into the collective unconscious, he encounters places and beings that other travelers will also recognize. For example, an experienced shaman might describe the “spirits” that a novice shaman has met during the early “journeys” of the apprentice. Hope this helps. |

Sometimes I have dreams that seem to literally be in alternate universe. As if I had "chosen" different paths then I might have lived a different life.
After I have these dreams I spend the day with a feeling that I cant shake off, like I knew those people inside & out. But I cant remember any of the details later on. My theory is (with atleast some of our dreams) we get to visit our "Other" lives...to maybe get to see the other side of ourselves. I think were all tied to one another, even if we never physically meet. |

Perhaps you are searching too deep. Reality is a complicated subject! Dreams are real to some people while to others dream represent an imaginary world. Your subconscious creates the dreams for different reason: Sometimes to frighten you awake sometimes to keep you asleep, move parts of your body and generally change your sleeping position every so often. If you slept in the same position all night you would wake up with parts of your body aching and even bed sores. Your subconscious creates the dreams from past experiences and its own creative imagination. The people you see in the dreams are all imagined and not real. The people of your dreams you recognise are put there by the subconscious and are no different than you loading up someones photo, or looking at apicture. However the question of reality arises! Is father christmas real? Is Frankenstein or Dracula real? Are snowhite and the seven dwars real? They are real in asense that they have been created from pure imagination and conjure up mental pictures. Cheers Wolfjk
