General Chit-Chat Kind of like a lounge, just come in and talk about anything at all. Relax, this is like the water cooler at the office.

Hi,
With the information you give there is too little to go on. Do you have a hectic life? Do you take drugs or medicines? Do you drink a lot of coffee? Do you have an exciting job? do you have too much responsibilities? Do you have a lot of hassle?
Any of these things could cause insomnia.
Cheers Wolfjk

I hear you because I have MAJOR insomnia.
There are a few tricks that help a little, but I have to recommend visiting your dr if after trying a few things there is no change.

1) limit your caffeine intake closer to bedtime. (Suger also)

2) Take distractions out of your bedroom, like a tv. TV is a huge factor in sleeplessness

3) Try doing something relaxing evernight before bed. For me, it's reading. Other ideas may be a hot bath, or something along those lines.

4) If it takes you extra time to fall asleep, than see if you can't hit the shits a little earlier at night to compinsate.

5) Don't allow yourself to become frusterated at your lack of sleep.

6)Face your alarm clock away from you

7) When I couldn't sleep as a child my mother use to tell me "pretend to sleep". It's actually great advice. Even if you're not sleeping, laying there, relaxed, with your eyes closed is atleast giving you some rest.

8) A yoga pose: When in bed ready to go to sleep. Get comfortable and lie on your back. While in the position try to keep your mind completely clear and empty. Try to stop thinking. This position is called the "corpse" position. (it is not entirely necessary to lie on your back, the idea is to clear your mind)

9) The clearing your mind thing is big. When you are trying to sleep. Let your self relax into you pillows, and mattress. While you are breathing, think in, out. When you inhale actually think the word "in" in your mind, when your exhale think "out". Make sure your breathing is nice and easy and relaxed.

---Well these are my best pieces of advice. They do help me a lot, but I will be honest that I still needed help from my dr. So give some things a try, but don't rule out a visit to your dr.
