Shark and alligator
I had a dream that I think is very clear, but would like an expert on dreams to see if my interpretation seems to be on the right track.
Dream setting: I was on the edge of a pool or very small body of water. Water wasn’t clear but not murky either, just a refreshing pool of water. There was someone else whom I don’t know who it was standing elsewhere at the edge of this pool. There was white boat (good size motorboat) sitting in the pool as well.
The dream happenings: This other person called out “SHARK!” as I noticed a shark swimming in the pool. I then jumped in to do battle with this shark. In the struggle the boat capsized but ended up right side up after rolling over a couple times. Now the scene changes and this shark is now on land and has turned into an alligator. This alligator has hold of me, either my leg or arm I am not too sure, but no matter how hard the alligator bit down, he caused me no injury. I finally broke away from the alligator and ran. The alligator chased me and was running as a lion or leopard would chase pray. Didn’t run like an alligator. This other person appeared during the chase as I got away. I could still see the alligator and he was very close to this other person. I called out to this person warning him about the alligator. The 2 of them were very close to each other, but the alligator had no interest in this other unknown person. The alligator was only interested in me and began to chase again. I ducked out of his path for safety and this is when I woke up.
What I get from this dream: I was working for this company for nearly 10 years with a flawless track record. They recently had a turnover in management. The new management is corrupt in their business dealings. I see the pool as maybe my employer. I also have a good home Internet business going (not quite good enough to give up the job though, but good enough to drop to a part time status in my job). I see the boat being my smaller home business. I left my job last Monday on unfavorable terms as I was called to a meeting and was being accused of things that were all outright lies. I see the shark as being my accuser. There is one thing I have zero tolerance for and that is a thief or a liar, to me both are one in the same. A thief steals tangible things while I liar attempt to steal the truth. I just got up and walked out of this meeting to save myself from saying or doing something I might regret. My leaving automatically terminated my employment. I have written letters to several departments both within the corporation and to the US department of labor about these wrong doings. I see the alligator being the accuser trying to get a grip on me and although he was able to grip, he could not cause any harm. With the alligator chasing me tells me that this person may attempt to come after me for reporting the incident. The fact that the shark left the pool and became an alligator tells me that this person may be relived from their duties and as a result will attempt to come after me to retaliate. The fact that he never caught me, tells me that his action or chase will be unsuccessful for him.
