no, I´m watching two different ´shows´, Karas (animation) it´s based on a graphic novel.., whatever.

tHE course is over, this summer I won´t post though I wrote it. .I hope don´t be found frozen.! lol, . Was nice be a member on this site.

I mentioned this dream before in response to a werewolf dream LyssaLycan had, and decided to draw it, then fill it in with colors/textures on the PC (rather than colored pencils). I started with the background & only half finished the color, but my brother says it looks better like this (sketch of all the action going into a realistic background), and it does show a little better how exactly the image is created, so I'll leave it alone for now.

It was years and years ago (when I was 17 or 18), but I only remember it so well because it was strange and interesting enough to bring up in conversation a few times in the years since. Recalling a memory DOES re-fresh it & make it easier to remember later (through repetition), but it also edits the memory, so since until now I wasn't paying attention to things like when exactly the dream occurred, what I was going through at that time, etc.. much of what I could have learned from it is lost. I'm pretty sure the vampires were my parents and the situation I was going through with them back then but as far as the rest... who knows... Very interesting dream though.

Cryptic Message


I know some days I rival Medusa,
but I was startled awake
when he told me if my hair was tangled
I needed to get myself an Irish comb.


I hunted through all the places in-between,
figured it might be something magickal,
faerie-made in some distant mound.


So far, I haven't found one,
so my hair's still wild,
Spanish moss on a damp and sticky day.


It's almost as bad as lost Kate kissing Sawyer
with his prickly steel-wool beard
and beautiful but cold eyes.


Maybe he meant I needed an Irish rake?


He flashes me a view of those Cape Cod girls,
mermaids sunning on the rocks,
combing their hair with codfish bones,
luring unsuspecting sailors to their doom.


Those girls knew all about humidity by the sea,
and what it means to have a bad hair day.

I dreamed I was in a shop in a town that looked like Coronado, California, with a curving main street and lots of unique little shops with colorful awnings, like the area near the Hotel Del Coronado. This shop was also somehow my mother's house. A short bald man came in, I thought at first my ex-husband, but this man was very thin, and he wanted an apple pie. I told him I couldn't bake him a pie here in my mother's shop, but that if he came to my house, I'd bake a pie for him. EOD. I think this dream was a flashback to when we met in 1965, and he took me to a restaurant which was right where this shop seemed to be. He was a great deal thinner in those days, though the dream seemed to exaggerate that, and had a military Marine-style shaved-head haircut. I always preferred the times when he let his hair grow out. He had nice hair!

Notes: Going through my files, I found this. It made me laugh, because at the time I had the dream and wrote the poem, my ex weighed about 300 pounds and was only 5'5" tall! But then I found out he had stomach surgery, and he lost a lot of weight, and I saw a recent photo of him, and now he looks like he did in this dream! I sure hadn't thought of it as precognitive at the time. I suspect that during the time the photo was taken, he had also been to Coronado to visit family with wife #3! So it may be that it was a precog of his trip, actually. Over a year before he went there. How strange!

"East of Eden" is a reference to John Steinbeck's novel. Also a movie or miniseries I saw based on it. I think it might have been Jane Seymour who starred in it.
