Cool picture. It reminds me of the old Beetlejuice cartoons for some reason(when the tv commercials would come on in the world of the dead showing the living).

IrisRavenstar

This poem was really nice, I think I like it better than the other one.

I started another picture about a month ago, but I keep putting off finishing it. Hopefully I can get it done and uploaded sometime soon.

It's really interesting to see how different everyone's dreams are and how we put them into words or picture.

Thanks, NfoJunkie! When I get myself together enough to take up something new, I will probably take you up on the offer for help/advice! Right now, I've got too many interests, and not enough time/energy.

I agree about drawing too, and that's another thing I'm always intending to do more of. I do sketches in my dream journals often, but they are just for me to remember what I saw. I've had dreams I wished I could really paint and bring to life though. The only art program I have at present it a little sketch type one, and it's fun to play with sometimes, but the results aren't very good. I may have to get one of those others soon! Kinda cool ability that... editing out the flaws!

A sticky would be good, or a separate section for dream art and poetry and even longer writings would be nice... a creativity section!

Default Killjoy Haiku; a dream poem

This is an old one from about two years ago, and I got thinking about it, because the hummingbirds are back for the summer, enjoying the impatiens I put out for them, and hovering in front of my window in the living room... so sweet!

Killjoy Haiku

Dirty mouse scurries
all over hummingbird bowl.
He's such a killjoy!

The inspiration:

I have a lovely Navajo bowl with a white background and beautifully hand-etched hummingbirds and flowers on it in soft shades of amethyst and blue. I had a vision as waking of a mouse running around on my bowl, and worried whether a real mouse was upstairs. They often come into the basement during the winter months to keep warm. My guide said "No, it's not that."

According to traditional symbolism, mice are chthonic, related to the powers of darkness, incessant movement, senseless agitation, turbulence. Christian symbolism even sees them as the Devil, the devourer. Hummingbird on the other hand is a Native American symbol for joy, and my real hummingbirds in my garden are very important to me; they will come right up to my front window and hover and peer in at the plants on my windowsill.

So the vision was about killing joy, something killing joy. For me, lately, it's other people's drive towards conformity, and the way they try to push me into it, instead of letting me be my unique little self in peace. I don't get it, but it certainly can eat away at joy, much as the mice damage anything they get to chewing at. Anyway, I am not letting it happen, you see? My ex tried for thirty one years to turn me into someone else, either his dead sister or his mother, and that didn't work. So, it won't work when others try either. There's so much in this one little vision, really. I don't want to conform to everyone else. I just want to be myself! My fullest best self! Isn't that what individuation is all about?

Don't people enjoy differences anymore? I went to see Celtic Woman recently because they can do something I cannot, and that makes them special, fun to watch. The same goes for loving to watch figure skating. No way I can do that! So I see it as special, worth watching. I love peoples' uniqueness and differences. It's what makes the world interesting. It's becoming harder to find. We've developed a world where quaint interesting unique little shops are a thing of the past, and homogenized shopping malls rule America, and probably are infiltrating the rest of the world with the same shops. It makes me sad, it kills my joy.

Anyway, at least one resident mouse bit the dust a couple of days ago, drowned in a bucket of water under my sink, where I have a leaky pipe. I think my angels caught him for me (I heard them giggling), so I would not have to deal with hunting him out when he died in the basement and the smell drove me crazy, like with last year's mouse.

Foster JOY!

Feed Hummingbirds!

Default Another dream I sketched.

As always, it's difficult to fit all the items, locations, people, and events, of a dream into one drawing. With this dream, I only managed to fit about half of them into a picture, with the beginning of the dream at the top left, and the last part at the bottom right.. A description of just these parts of just the dream, can be found in the caption of the picture when you follow the link. Perhaps in the future I'll type out the rest of it, as well as the current facts, events, & people in my life that it might relate to.

Wow... this is exceptionally late isn't it?

Here's one I did. It is of a tree growing through a fat heart with money at the base of the tree growing out of the rocky ground of a seashore of a red sea which was based on a series of dreams:

Picasa Web Albums - ANGELA - My Art work

I ask that if anyone else paints or draws, that they post it under this topic, and we can all enjoy them.
I think your paintings are lovely.

I have a couple on my computer, and are dream related as well, but the paintings I do tend to be overly cartoon-ish and on/with odd materials and mediums. :] and I do them on my favorite dreams

One day I was out of canvases to paint and I had a dream about robots taking over the world that past night(silly, i know, but it was fairly entertaining :] )
so I drew it on a pair of canvas shoes with markers from the dollar store.

heh heh.... :P

Another was of a girl lying in a morgue who came back to life when I touched her. (on canvas with oil paints)

Wow, that's really good. I'm not sure because the picture is small, but is their a mechanical crank on the side of the house? and it looks like the house is sitting on a cogwheel.

I like this. Could you post the dream?

Default Sixth Scents; a poem

This one isn't from a single dream, so much as it's about the dream and
psychic (psi) experience... enjoy!

Sixth Scents

No, that's not a misspelling!
It might be a pun,
tickling you with dual meaning.

It's bad enough seeing visions,
hearing voices,
having precognitions
of every family death
and half the world's disasters.

But what do you call it
when your nose gets involved?
Nosis, instead of Gnosis?

I should have expected it, really,
after that wedding dream
where the bride and groom
had handsful of cinnamon and clove
dumped atop their heads.

Every time I think of the dream,
years later,
I still smell the cloves.

But lately, it's coming in daylight.

My son calls me on the telephone,
talking crazy, raging, angry,
and I'm overwhelmed
with the acrid raw odor of alcohol.
Stay away for now!

I read something I really don't like,
walk into the next room, and find myself
searching for where the dog
had an accident on the floor,
but there's nothing there!
Who is it that sends me this stench,
makes this commentary
on my reading?

What do they call it?
Clairolfactory, maybe... sounds
like a place they make hair dye,
not a sixth sense.

I think I scared that woman,
trying out psychometry in a group.
What did I get from her keys?
Spontaneous Reiki flow,
and the reek of cigarette smoke.
"Quit smoking, please,
you need to for your health."

I hope she listened.

I like the days
when the scent of roses comes.
Roses bespeak divinity,
angels in my hair and in my ear.
What could be better than that?
