i know this sounds really strange but i was flicking through the tv sky list yesterday and i saaw a film, i can't even remember what it was called and i didnt read what it was a bout but i felt compelled to put it on despite my usual programme were on i just for some reason had to put this film on. It was really early morning on sunday and i was sleepy and sort of doing other things with this film in the background but then i became engrossed in it as the story went on. I swear it felt like the film was written about me! the only difference was the ending but then i cannot judge that now being only 18.
It was a film about a girl who had been raped at a party and didnt tell anyone for a yr or so and then she told her closest friends and they all called her a liar and the whole of her world fell apart. The boy she liked also dumped her over it and people were really nasty to her and she felt almost suicidal. The only dif from that to mine was hers ended in the bloke attacked her and he was caught doing so....where as the bloke who did it to me is now in prison for other things but the outline of the story like the basics was just so close it was unreal. 2 months ago all my friends turned on me n my bf dumped me bcause they thought i was a liar and this is one of the things they said i lied about because i enver told anyone. Also in the film at the end the girl had to tell her mother about it and the entire scene was the same as wen i told my mum last month and i hadnt spoken about it to them for 6 years. Do you think i just found ways of trying to compare myself with this film or do you think there was an actual reason i felt compelled to put it on. It put me in such a weird mood all day, not necesarily a down mood but just odd like surreal i didnt really feel awake or visible i felt like i was driftin through the day and i wasnt me. hmm? any ideas? |

Hannah,
I'm not surprised because art oftentimes imitates lifes. Even when someone writes a book, makes a TV program, or a movie oftentimes its "based on a true story". In the Bible, King Solomon said that there is nothing new under the sun. I guess only the time and the names have changed. Look at it this way and know that people are basically resilent and can take comfort in the fact that if someone else got through similar circumstances , then they will too. I understand that these people have spread lies about you and people you care about. If you ask anyone here it has probably happened to them too. However, if you want the ultimate revenge, then hold your head high and live a good life. It will make you look and feel classy and drive your enemies nuts. Good luck, Hannah. Smitty |

I identify myself with Ben X and a bit with Donnie Darko.
