Default reading in your dreams

i know its impossible to really read in a dream , i mean more that a Macdonald's sign or something .

but i use to do it often . i mean it was always in a specific series of dreams i had , were i live in a certain house and .. honestly when ever i went to sleep its like i went back and woke up in a completely different life .. and dozed back off and woke up here again to live this life . it was completely bizzare and went is off and on since i was a kid . i find it very spiritual , almost like a past life or something .

i meani could probably redesign the house to the dirt on the front porch .

i did not have any different points of view , it was the same as now , in front of me . not over me ect. as dreams usually allow you .

but i mean other than all of that and i lot more creepy stuff .

i could read , i mean i would hop online and do my home work . and read my mail ect . and it wasnt just the symbols going in to my head , i was really reading it word for word , and i mean just as i am now aware that im awake i would realize that i was " dreaming " so i would take note of things like that .

i don't know it was all very odd but has mostly stopped for certain reasons.

maybe im just schizophrenic :] like fight club

i guess i mean is it even possible to read in your dreams more than a candy bar or a 1 word text message because i really read more than even a sentence ? or maybe im just delusional and believe that i did

i also have sleep paralisis so could that have something to do with it ?

Apparently the portion of your brain that reads text isn't active during dreams. I've had the same experience - it's really frustrating. On the up side, sometimes it's the clue that can alert you to the fact that you're dreaming, and allow you to transition into a "lucid dream" where the dream plays itself out but you can control it to a large extent. This is really fun when it happens. Want to fly, drive a Ferrari or make out with Jessica Alba? All possible in a lucid dream. Just don't try reading while you're at it!
