Hi everyone, I have been real obsessed with my weight problem. I am 33 years old female and have gained 90lbs which makes the count to 210. I recently took out some of my summer clothes and they don’t fit me anymore!!! . This is a real tragic one for me. How can I not wear the ones I adore...morever the new look is getting me mad (with the comments from my friends). I know quite a few ways to get the slimming work on…….but I don’t really feel that, with the failures of many people on this way. I will make it through. Does anyone know a proven way to reduce the fat?
Please help me…..this thing is killing me!!! |

excersise.
every day. start walking, 40 minutes every morning and/or afternoon. i stress that you dont have to waste money on gym's and special diets to lose weight. it's also not what you eat but how much of it you eat. it is important to make sure you're getting the right supplements ie. fruit, veges, meat, dairy, small amounts of pastas/bread/potatoes. nuts aren't the most flavoursome snack but are ideal, dont go off junk food altogether. it will only make your weight loss harder from teh constant cravings, just limit the intake of it. make a plan to have take out once a week if you feel you must. the army gave pre-enlistees a 4 week excersise regime to get us fit BEFORE training. it's very simple if you'd like to view it. all i can say is if you make it your goal to lose the weight and keep it off, it means alot of hard work, it involves determination and consistency. always push yourself to do better than you did the previous day. eventually it will become routine and after you've excersised you feel alot sharper, alot fresher and alot happier. i stress that you HAVE to stick to it, or you will get nowhere. have a gander on the net for forms of yoga/martial arts/boxing. these things will improve your stamina. just dont get the idea in your head about losing weight in "3 easy steps." just persevere. |

In addition to the great advice from Courage I would also suggest a thyroid panel if the weight gain has been rapid. Also, water. You can cut thousands of calories by stopping soft drinks (diet sodas included) To start, try drinking water every other time you get something to drink. If you can do 8 glasses a day your body will start to turn loose of the extra weight.

With due regard to Courage it would not be in your interest to exercise at your present weight; it is liable to be harmful. Contrary to many cherished views exercise is unnecessary; about 15 minutes twice weekly is all that is required for sedentary people and walking or swimming are equally as good.
The problem with weight gain lies with your diet. Consider this, polyunsaturated fats depress the immune system so avoid vegetable oils in particular, except those like olive oil which consists of monounsaturated fat. Fish and fish oils although nutritious have this downside so should not be a major part of your diet. Avoid all trans fats which are found mainly in margarines; those are harmful at the cellular level of the body. Diets high in those fats are likely to cause ill-health. The culprit for weight gain, without question, are carbohydrates and your current diet probably consists, in the main, of carbs. It is therefore imperative that you ramp down on your carb intake; the lower the better. The problem here is our liking for confectionary type foods and this is because carbs are addictive. Carbs raise the body's blood sugar levels and their regular intake keeps this high. Constantly high BP is the cause of ill-health and subsequently diabetes or diabetic related health problems. Carbs also cause all fats in the diet to furr the arteries in addition to doing other harm and including depressing the immunity. When arterial plaque was analysed it was found to consist of a massive 70% from polyunsaturated fats, 23% from saturated, and 7% from other sources. Our stomachs are carnivorous and our teeth are omnivorous (for rather an obvious reason) so our natural diet should consist mainly (if not solely) of meat and saturated fat which, since the 1950s, has had bad publicity which has to do with the profiteers of the food and pharmaceutical industries and like the children of Hamlin, we are all following the tune of the Pied Piper. All processed foods are nutrient deficient and those too should be avoided if and where possible. Manufacturers add vitamins but those are synthetic which are alien to the body so with a high intake of processed foods in the diet one is at risk of taking overdoses which will affect health adversely. It was discovered that there was more nutrition in the cardboard boxes of cereals than there was in the cereal so what did the manufacturers do, they added synthetic vitamins. Anyone taking cereal with either pasteurised, homogenised, semi or skimmed milk, for breakfast is loading their body with carbs and synthetic vitamins and raising the BS level dangerously high. All breads, cakes, cookies, sweets, chocolates, manufactured drinks, etcetera are loaded with carbs and should be avoided in the diet or at least taken only as a luxury occasionally. Even fiber is harmful. Saturated fat is the body's natural food for energy and protein is essential to our bodies which was not designed to eat greens, especially green leaves. Our teeth are omnivorous and intended, like all animals of the wild, to eat fruit and nuts in the autumn to enable us to put on fat so that we could survive the winter's famine; society may have changed but our stomachs have not. We were never designed to eat fruit throughout the year. Some fruits and many vegetables, especially of the cruciferous variety are suspected of being goitrogenic (suppresses the thyroid) so should be avoided. What then should be the basis of a healthy diet. Meat of all varieties but especially those from the wild or are meadow fed for the greater part of the year and with lashings of saturated fat. Genuine free-ranging hens eggs which will provide those essential omegas (which, in fact, are not essential), raw milk and products made from this like cheeses and cream and all fried or cooked in either beef tallow or lard. The closer one can get to this the healthier one will be. Avoid using the microwave oven as it changes the structure of protein allowing undigested protein to enter the blood stream causing among other health problems those related to autoimmune diseases. This also occurs when food is cooked on high heat. Best to use iron cookware rather than non-stick which contains poisons that goes into the food. Imcidentally, all foods made of grains are potentially harmful as grains contain certain poisons. Grains need to be sprouted to avoid this. Finally, join Natural Health Information Articles and Health Newsletter by Dr. Joseph Mercola to keep abreast of the latest information on health. Read Sally Fallon's book, 'Nourishing Traditions' if you have not already done so. A PS here; there are some minor side-effects on changing to this diet which will pass with time depending on the state of one's ill-health; the problematic one is severe constipation as the flora in the bowel becomes more natural. To assist in overcoming this virgin coconut oil or high doses of vitamin c (taken temporarily during this stage) may be helpful. On conclusion, good luck and good health! |

I just started this Alli thing a week ago. I am 41 and I have been struggling with my weight for the past 20 years or so. Alli used to be a prescription medication, but now is over the counter. It binds with the fat that you eat, and 1/3 of the fat that you eat is removed through the bowels. You have to keep your fat intake to a minimum or you will have unwanted effects that include loose oily stools that can be uncontrollable. I have not had these bad effects yet, thank God.
Anyways, this is just the diet that I am doing now. I have done many other diets and right now I am trying this one. I have lost about 7 pounds in one week or something like that. (Whenever I start a diet, I always lose 5 pound the first week then 2-3 each additional week) Alli claims to help you lose 50% more weight than you would if you were not taking it and were just dieting alone. Here is the link to check out: Myalli Know this though, I think I am the exception when I say I have not had problems with this. Both my mother and my best friend had very unpleasant effects from taking Alli...the uncontrollable bowel issues, oily stool and such. So basically, you just really have to watch your fat intake. I am still following the basic habits that I have always used to lose weight and that is.. eating about 6 small meals a day that are low fat or no fat, drinking tons of water, eating whole grain/wheat, and limiting simple carbs, choosing chicken and fish rather than beef, etc. Good luck with the weight loss. I still have like 40-50 more pounds to go. Currently I am about 193 or so, and yes, I understand the struggle. I do not fit comfortably at all in my old clothes!

Very exciting Trident except it has been documented that losing weight too rapidly is harmful to the body and the downside to excreting saturated fat from the body is that it fails to create cholesterol which produces the hormones essential for good physical and mental health. Those who attempt to reduce their cholesterol frequently suffer from health problems including lack of energy and depression which is often accompanied by suicidal thoughts. Your MD probably did not tell you about this as s/he probably does not know.

My doctor recommended I reduce my calorie intake to 1000 calories per day. And it worked like a charge in combination with moderate exercise. Take a walk everyday - even for 20 mins...always at a comfortable pace. To create your 1000 calorie diet just google counting calories and you get tons of lists of food and the number of calories each contain. Check the labels at the grocery store. You'd be surprised how much food you can eat in a day if you learn to choose the right things. A big spinach salad with a few sliced grapes and a nice low cal raspberry vinegrette is under 100 calories. If that's your lunch and breakfast is a bowl of plain bran flakes with 10% milk and a coffe (about 110 cals), that's 2 meals done and look at what you have left for snacks and dinner! Its easy..healthy...and it works.
But please, before you start any diet or exercise program, consult with your doctor. |
