Can anyone tell me whats going on?

I have dreams every night that I am being hunted down from someone or something that is trying to kill me. I always wake up and blame my husband for trying to kill me, but I do not know what I am saying. Often he says I run around the room and yell. I have been known to fall down stairs and hurt my self by running into things. I have had sleep studies done, but nothing happens when I am being recorded. I always have a feeling of dread before bed, because I know I will do something crazy or feel scared as if someone is trying to kill me. When I am awake, I am not bothered by anything. It only happens in my sleep. I never do actually die though, I always seem to escape or find out that I am going to be killed before it happens.

Perhaps in sleep studies you did not go into deep sleep. These violent dreams happen to all of us in deep sleep but we don't remember it and dont act on the dream. However there are some pepople who act on these early dreams that happen in deep sleep. Perhaps your dreams are triggered by stress or some food allergy. You could go back to the sleep clinic and explain your problem. Probably your best course of action is note what food you had before these dream, what stress situations happened. Have you any secrets you're frightened your husband might find out?
Going back to the sleep clinic is your best option.

I guess I will try going back to the clinic. I just figured since they did not find anything it would be useless. I do not have any thing to hide or any secrets. I think I must blame him because it is him that I see when I wake up in a rage. I have had crazy dreams like this for the last 17 years or so, just not as aften as they occur now.

I have heard of this happening before to someone who had unknowingly a bad reaction to sleeping tablets. She kept on taking more thinking if she had a good sleep she would feel better and of course she didnt because they were causing it in the first place. You probably have checked out ur meds with them but maybe its been passed as ok as it doesnt normally affect people in this way???

Think on this two points about dream language symbols much perhaps it may help.
Murder and being killed means that someone will do you a favor or a big help in reality so each time you dream so someone will help.


Being afraid means security in reality.
Running away from someone means you will overcome at last.

You say that you always blame 'him' but did not quite make it clear who 'him' was. You also say that you have nothing to hide so why the need to express this?

You state that when your sleep is being recorded that those dreams do not arise but you failed to say where those recordings took place; would it be in the company of your husband or at some clinc? You also state that you have suffered from those disturbances for 17 years; would this have been prior to meeting your husband and if so why should he now be blamed?

What can be reasonably deduced from what you say is that inwardly you harbour profound feelings of insecurity and possibly worthlessness and for some reason you might be using your husband as the fall-guy. It therefore seems that you may have had undergone a traumatic experience by some man in your life who has destroyed your self confidence and/or self respect. To be so affected would tend to indicate continual abuse over a period which has left you emtionally and deeply wounded and possibly feeling like the sludge at the bottom of the sewer, and that experience is still controlling your life which would tend to indicate the degree of threat or fear involved, and its potential consequences if exposed. The circumstances surrounding you sleeping with your husband could be triggers to this possibly suppressed trauma which compels you to act-out your fear. This raises another question of why your attraction to your husband.

To help fill the vacant spaces in this scenario of yours, it would assist to know more detail of your life's circumstances. I trust that I am not treading where angels fear to tread.
