A war dream

This was a short dream. Usually my dreams are much longer. It's World War 2. We were defending a hill in North Africa. We were behind a maching gun firing at Germans attacking the hill. The sound of the machine guns were loud and it seemed like we never ran out of bullets. Germans were dropping like flies. As the Germans got closer they started to engage in hand to hand combat. We (the other soldiers in my unit) turned our machine gun to the top of the hill and fired shooting several in the back as they engaged the other troops saving the others from certain doom. Very scary. The surviving Germans were herded into a group and then marched off.

I'm totally against all wars and never watch war stuff on television. This dream was just like being there. One can olnly imagine the fear anyone would have in a situation like that.

The accuracy of the dream content is questionable but while you avoid watching war programmes on tv it is apparent that you were subjected to a diet of war propaganda during your life. The dream has a slightly obvious meaning but I will abide by your wishes.
