Default A bad dream can mean a bad day

First I'd like to say hello. I'm one of those people who dreams from the moment I fall asleep to the moment I awake. I have many more good dreams than bad ones. But I had a really bad one last night. I was being hounded in run down hotels by some kind of what I thought was law enforcement. I finally turned around and said you don't exsist and if you did I've done nothing wrong. The next part of the dream I was in a small music club and surf guitar king Dick Dale was playing a show. Then while Dick was playing his guitar burst into flames. Like an explosion. When the fire was out everything was fine. Not a burn mark on Dick or his guitar. A few days before I had learned that Dick was fighting cancer. Maybe when the fire was out and he was unmarked might mean he'll beat his ailment. I hope so.

Today was a bad day for me. Nothing seemed to go right. It's cold and grey outside. I'm close to Portland Or, It's winter. What do I expect. My soul feels cold and empty. Tonight's dream should be better. I never have had two bad dreams in a row.

Any comments would be welcome. Thanks

Paul

I live in a similar latitude and at one stage to my life suffered from the SAD symptoms which seemed to affect my daily life but by around the end of January my spirits began to lift so I appreciate your point. The first part of your dream seems to indicate an accusing finger pointing towards you but you are aware of your innocence. I have no idea of the underlying meaning to the second dream.

Thanks Jennings for your opinion. It was all one dream. Everything was connected. I love Dick Dale's music and know him somewhat. I pray he survives. That's probably what was behind that. It's funny. At the end of the dream I was faced with having to walk a long distance home. That's when I knew I was going to have a difficult time today.

I've lived up here for many years and I don't get the winter blues as a rule. I never let it really bother me. I've been ill of late. Some pretty serious health issues to deal with. That's probably got me down some.

Thanks again
Paul

Hi Paul,
Bad dreams don't just happen out of the blue, but are caused by something that happens in the sleep.
My guess is that you were suffering from a bad doze of indigestion in your sleep. There are one or two indicators in your post that suggest it. It follows that if you had a bad nights sleep you will feel low next day.

Winter gets me down as well! Jennings and I live a lot further north than you so we see even less daylight! However it was a good day today! I could still see at 4PM otside in my workshop.
Cheers Wolfjk

Wolfjk,

Unfortunately I have some serious health issues I'm dealing with. Usually my sleep is the one state of mind where I can escape my health problems. I was feeling pretty bad the last couple of days but when I woke up today I was not in pain. But other things went bad. You know, girlfriend BS and all that. I have got to let her go and move on. I'm 53 and don't have the room for any more pain in my life. Health issues are just too demanding right now.

Thanks for your responce. I appreiciate it.

Paul

It is sad to hear of your health issues Paul but at 53 you should be in good health unless something beyond your control occurred to your life. You may think that you are old but you certainly are not; you are just beginning to arrive at early old age but you are not there yet by any means and certainly have a long way to go before reaching advanced old age. You really need to look to your diet; try reading this article for starters: 'The Truth About Saturated Fat'. The only period in life when I suffered chronically from what I thought was the illnesses of old-age was during the 17 years when a vegetarian - big mistake!
