I dreamt that I was very bored so my friend invited me out. he then took me to a religious ritual in a field in the middle of nowhere. he said it was a Christian ritual but it wasn't really. people were being suspended by ropes around their arms in mid-air with giant tarot cards dangling above them. then when the music reaches fever pitch, the strings are cut and they fall to the ground, often having intense religious experiences. i was invited to play the part of the Moon. i refused, wondering what the hell i was doing at a Christian (?) ritual when i'm terrified of organised religion. but then something persuaded me - I heard what was unmistakeably 'Liberi Fatali' in the background. I asked an old, bearded man 'is that Liberi fatali from FF8?' and he said 'sure, we all love Final Fantasy here'. then i walked up to the ritual and the music changed to the FF intro music. but by the time i had got there, someone nicked my tarot card.

it was quite an intense dream... do you think its an important one?

It does appear as if your suspicions about organised religion have come to the fore in the dream. The ritual you described seems to be Pagan possibly emphasising the antiquity of religion. The bit about the music confuses me as it does not come within my experience nor knowledge. Religion, like other political bodies, is battling for the minds of the people but, to win them there has to be a product to sell, and they sure do make a hard sell.
