General Chit-Chat Kind of like a lounge, just come in and talk about anything at all. Relax, this is like the water cooler at the office.

Suggest me to get relief from stress!

Default Suggest me to get relief from stress!

I am the Marketing Head of an FMCG company and for over a few weeks, I have been feeling dizziness, anxiety, and a dreadful sense of doom which I feel is a result of over exertion. After a recent fight at work with my boss during a marketing campaign the situation, became severe. Stress is destroying my life. I don’t know what to do. Please suggest.
Thanks!

Default Get some rest

You certainly sound like you are suffering from stress. I think you need a bit of a rest. If you don’t get a rest and a break from work straight away, you could find yourself suffering from severe illness. Are you able to relax outside of work or are you always thinking of work? Try to calm your mind. Forget about work when you are not there.

Look into mediation, yoga, or some other form of relaxation of the mind. Book up for some reflexology or a massage.

Take a break……..good luck and get some rest immediately..

Hi anni,
This is more a medical problem than anything to do with dreams. There is some good advice provided by idgy. I think you are heading for a depression. There may be a clash of personalities between you and your boss. You may feel under qualified for the job. There could be many reasons, including some personal ones unconnected with your job.
I could not possibly advise you.
I hope things work out for you.
Cheers Wolfjk

Those who suffer from stress are frequently in denial so your first challenge is to be honest and sincere with yourself. Until you are able to do this you are unlikely to progress.

Start regarding stress as a form of social ruin or suicide when the next consideration will be to ask yourself what was your part (forget about the contribution of others) in your own downfall? To do this is can be difficult to those affected like yourself.

Distinguish the difference bewteen objectivity and subjectivity and in everything you do (in future), or contemplate, take your own feelings out of the equation. Most people are highly subjective and find difficulty in grasping this point but it is achievable. Sympathy does not solve problems and never has done; it either hides them or exacerbates them. When you allow you feelings to intervene in your considerations you are being sympathetic to yourself and your problems will never be resolved; you will go trundling through life repeating and recreating those same problems. The episodical plots may differ but the theme will always be the same and to protect your own sensitivity you will effectively rationalise to justify to yourself (but seldom to others) that you were the one who was right! It is like waging war with yourself in which you are not prepared to lay down your weapon; you are going to coerce everyone, even yourself, into accepting that your views or moves were right. Your track-record should be a good guide to understanding your problem. There may be external stressors to life but what matters is how you (and each of us) manage them. Consider this; if you were to appoint someone to manage your life, would you select yourself? This is not as fatuous as it sounds.

The next serious consideration is this; and irrespective of how you feel about it, it is imperative that you keep it in your focus. It is based on the observation that there is no God to life but there is Mammom; If you think this is foolishness, or disregard or dismiss it, then carry on committing social suicide which is exactly what you are doing, and hence your stress which more accurately is depression.

Mammon is the person who gives us the 'sweet things' in life, and Mammon is your immediate line-manager whom you have taken to task and criticised and guess what, Mammon, like most ordinary humans, is sensitive and you have probably emotionally wounded him (or her) and he is probably nursing his wounds and he is going to enjoy slowly emasculating (or disempowering) you.

Mammon, whether you like the idea or not, needs to be courted and there is no exception to this rule. To do so has nothing to do with toadying or prostituting one's personality; it is a social skill that needs to be honed and utilised to your personal benefit! It is a skill that is useful and should be utilised in all social situations.

You may not like (initially) to do this but tell the boss that he is a good guy, that you admire how he does his job, carry out to the letter all that he says (irrespective of whether you know of a better way) and one could continue, but, remember, even if you know he is a bumbling fool who is causing havoc in the company, always make him feel that he is right!. This approach is critical and imperative for your advancement, and vital for your health and well wellbeing! There is no excuse now for being unwell and remember too, today is the first day of the rest of your life (it always will be).

Bon voyage!

Here is another consideration (figuratively speaking); the wind at the top of a tree is always at its strongest and for the tree not to be blown down it has to yeild, or bend, with the wind!
